Serenity Layout by Debbie

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a layout that was especially fun to create. The photo is one of my favorites and Wisteria is in my top ten of favorite flowers! The flowers are hand made using dies and the rose leaves are chipboard that has been altered to match the layout and flowers. Today I'm going to share how I altered the chipboard Rose Leaves, but first we will talk about the background of the layout. IMG_2509 To create the background follow these steps: Begin by tracing around where the matting and photo will be placed. 106_7769 Add your Mud and stenciling. Allow to dry. 106_7771 Spray the background with Colorations Peacock Feathers. 106_7772 Adhere your photo and mats using cardboard for dimension. Using VersaMark clear embossing ink and 2 colors of embossing powder, emboss your stenciling. 106_7773 Add splatters using Minx in Midnight to your layout. 106_7774 Gesso all chipboard pieces. Spray with Colorations in Peacock Feathers. Emboss with Versa Mark and Utee thick enamal embossing powder. Repeat. 106_7775 When the embossing is set spray with Colorations in Gilded Gold and reheat until it melts into the Utee. IMG_2517 This technique will give your chipboard gold metal flecks and give it a wet look. I hope you give this a try it will give your layouts a unique look! Beautiful Memories

Hello Friends!  Debbie with you today sharing a fun layout of my sweet grand daughter fulfilling her fantasy as a princess.  This was such a fun day I can remember it like it was yesterday! My 2 oldest grand daughter's spent a week with me and I had 2 beautiful princess dresses waiting for them when they got there.    We went to our local botanic gardens and did a photo shoot and as you can see my girl knew just how to be a princess for the camera!

The chipboard words are from the Words and Phrases 1 and were perfect for this layout. To alter the chipboard I simply embossed them with gold embossing powder.  They were perfect for this princess layout! Sometimes keeping things simple is better!

Build A Layout Easter

Hello friends!  Debbie with you today sharing a fun layout using Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Build a Layout Easter.  As you can see my sweet grand daughter was not very excited about sitting on the Easter Bunny's lap for the first time.  It's so cute though!  The Build a Layout Easter chipboard pieces are perfect for layouts and there are so many pieces in this ensemble that you can make cards and even a couple more layouts with them.
To alter the chipboard pieces I simply gave them 2 coats of Gesso and them embosses everything with coordinating embossing powders to match the papers.

Super easy and fun!  Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts has several Build a Layout ensembles to create layouts for several occasions!  Be sure to check them out!

Gypsy Soul Business Card Holder

Hello friends, Debbie with you today sharing my Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Business Card Holder. Everyone has business cards from companies, doctors and people they do business with everyday.  So instead of keeping them in a pile or corner somewhere this little Business Card Holder is perfect for organizing them and you can personalize for your taste!

To make this you simply assemble the Business Card holder using a strong adhesive, I like Tacky Glue for this because it dries fast and holds together.

Once the glue is dry I gave it a quick coat of acrylic paint.
Next step is to adhere your favorite patterned paper.
I added some embossing to the edges.
Finish it off by embellishing.

To alter this box I simply covered it with patterned paper and then decorated it with a hand made flower spray, butterflies and doily's.

Best Ever Layout

Hello friends, Debbie with you today sharing a layout I created with Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Art Deco Border and Corners.  These intricate pieces are so elegant and demand a project that goes with them. I had this beautiful wedding photo and thought it was perfect for these pieces.

To alter the chipboard I simply started out by painting it with a dusty lavender acrylic paint and the the embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I wanted it to match all the die cut flowers as well as the doilies and flourishes.

It's a very simple technique that adds elegance to any project. Thanks for stopping by Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Blog today!

Happy Valentines Day "Love You" Layout

Hello Friends!  Happy Valentines Day to all!  Hope your day is filled with love and romance!  Today I'm sharing a layout that I created with Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Build A Layout: Lovebirds.
Build A LAyout Lovebirds
This fun pieces can be used on one layout or used on two or three projects!  Today I used some of the pieces on a layout of a wedding that I attended a few years back.  To alter the pieces  used a simple technique giving them a two shaded effect.  I used my chalk inks and simply shaded the top halves in red and the bottom in pink.  It's as simple as rubbing your inks on the chipboard pieces until you reach the colors you want.
I hope you enjoyed my project and be sure to check out Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts for many different Build A Layout chipboard sets.

Thanks for stopping by Gypsy Souls Laser Cuts today and Happy Valentines Day!!

Desktop Inspirational Frame

Hello friends, Debbie with you today sharing a little desktop reminder that Spring is just a few short months away.  We have long winters here in Wyoming and sometimes we need a little reminder that Spring is coming and we can get out and enjoy the weather soon. The frame is a paper mache frame that I found in a craft store in Idaho while visiting my son and his family, I picked them up for $1 each and that put a huge smile on my face!

To start off decorating the frame I painted it with Gesso and then stenciled it with a Prima Stencil and modeling paste. Next I sprayed it in random areas with several colors of Glimmer Mist.

The next step is to emboss the modeling paste with Ultra Thick embossing powder.  I used a Pewter color. Add some stamping and ink the edges to finish off the frame.

The next piece I used was Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Page Frame Art Deco.  It looks like this unfinished.

I painted it in a turquoise blue acrylic paint and again embossed it with Ultra Thick embossing powder.  I adhered it to the frame and added all my fussy cut pieces and embellishments.

I hope you enjoyed my project today  and thanks for stopping by Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts today!

On The Move Layout by Debbie

Hello Friends and welcome to Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts!  We are having a long winter and I am longing for some nice weather.  Today I'm sharing a layout of my husband and his friend playing bike polo and Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts has the perfect title piece for this layout.  It's called On the Move and has a bicycle attached to it.  I knew when I saw it that I had the perfect photo for it.
I used one of the fragments from the Mixed Media Fragments 3 collection since I thought it was masculine and would add some interest to the layout. The fragment was cut before it was embossed.
To alter my pieces I embossed them with some thick enamel embossing powder in random areas and then continued to emboss the rest of the chipboard with a fine silver embossing powder.  I thought it gave the pieces a grungy guy kind of feature.

I hope you will give this simple but effective technique a try.  Thanks for stopping by today!!

Valentine's Day Layout

Hello Friends!  Debbie with you today sharing a fun layout featuring Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Flourished Circle Frames .  With Valentines Day coming up and one of the most celebrated days of the year, I couldn't help but scrapbook this cute photo of my husband and sweet grand daughter!  The Flourished Circle Frames were perfect for highlighting the photo and the bump out at the bottom of the page.
I altered the frames by simply inking them with red chalk ink and then added some Stickles to give it a blingy feel.  Next I rubbed them with Metallic Rub in Red.

Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Tag Box with Inspirational Tags

Hello, friends!  Debbie with you today sharing a  fun Valentine project that you can give as a gift or simply set on your desk or on a table as decoration.  Each tag has a beautiful saying to inspire you to remember what is important in life.  With Valentines Day coming, I thought I would center my project around the heart.
The tag box comes with six tags in the set and the box, like all of Gypsy Souls projects,  is easily assembled with either Tacky Glue or any other strong adhesive. The front of the box is decorated with Filigree Frames Shape Set and Victorian Scrolled Corner set.

I wanted the tags to be inspirational and with the New Year I wanted them to serve as a reminder to not forget the important things in life.  The first tag states "find joy in the ordinary"  To decorated the tags I used Flourishes 2 and Filigree Frames Shape Set.
The second tag says "a dream is a wish your heart makes".
"Listen to your Heart, it will show you the way"

"There is nothing like a dream to create the future"
"Don't forget to fly, together is the best place to be"
To decorate the box, I simply covered it with patterned paper and then decorated with chipboard pieces, flowers, mica flakes, splatters and modeling paste and stencil.

I decorated the chipboard pieces with black gesso and then embossed with Utee thick embossing enamel.  I then double embossed them with Lindy's Embossing Powder in a coordinating color.

To finish the tags off I simply embellished as seen and added some twine to the top.

I hope you will give this tag box and tags a try, they are fun and make a beautiful decoration. Thanks for stopping by Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts today!!

Faerie Shadow Box by Debbie

Hello Gypsy Soul friends!  Today I'm sharing a fun shadow box with a faerie theme.  The Faeries are one of my got to pieces that Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts carries, I have used them over and over for many projects...they are the perfect embellishment.  If you look closely you will discover four sweet Faeries hiding in and around the window openings and one inside the box as well.

To create this box I painted the whole box inside and out with white acrylic paint.  I also painted the Faeries with the same paint. Next step was to adhere one of my favorite patterned papers to the inside of the box. Paint the wings with Tattered Angels Watermelon Glimmer Mist and then rub with gold metallic rub. Adhere rhinestones to their wings and back.

Paint the Ivy Corners with Tattered Angels Olive Branch Glimmer Mist and rub with gold metallic rub and adhere to the Window shadow box.  Adhere the Faeries  as shown. Adhere flowers and Faerie dust  as shown. Embellish as desired. Window shadow box
