Springtime mini frames and cards

Hi everyone and welcome to our blog today.  I hope that all of you have had a nice week and are relaxing on this beautiful spring day and hopefully soaking up some sunshine.

Today I have some fun projects for you to make with lots of our beautiful mini frames in the store and the mini clipboards.  I always love to take out lots of fun pieces and then see where it leads me and I really had lots of fun creating these.

To start the projects you will need to get a package of the mini clipboards, Layered Frame Aria, and the layered Flourishes Aria.  I gently pushed them out of their backgrounds and sanded around the edges.  Then I glued the base pieces and the fancy filigrees that go with it together and let them dry.

For the clipboards I traced them on fancy papers from prima and cut them out with scissors.  Then I glued them on the frames both front and back and let it all dry.  Then I sanded around the edges and chalked them with a med brown chalk ink.

Then I glued it together like you see above.  I am going to find some pretty pictures of my mom and grandmother to put in the frames for Mother's day. Each of them has a tiny easel that I found at Micheals.  They are super cheap and I can change out the picture with the little clip whenever I find a new one so that is a really neat feature.

Here is a closeup of the clipboard frames.  I really love the details in these little chippies.

And then I found a few more styles to play with and put together some fun cards too.  For these I used the Flourished Frame Valerie Rectangle, Flourished Frame Marie and the Flourished Frame Valerie Square.   Each of them has beautiful edges and details that would be fun to paint or emboss or leave just as I did and chalk them a little to finish them.

For this one I used the Valerie rectangle frame and just glued it on layers of pretty papers.  I added an oval stamped image from Stampendous and a pretty pink bow at the bottom.  Super easy and quick.

And for this card I layered pieces of printed papers from the Prima set to make a simple background to put under my die cut and then I inked the frame with chalk ink and glued it down.  Then I die cut the ivory colored circle and added a cute sticker in the middle of it that I had tucked away in my stash.  All I needed was a pretty bow on the side to finish it.

And for my last card I used a few more pieces of the Prima paper and added layers of smokey blue paper to mat it.  This frame I added more chalk ink to darken it a little more and found this cute saying in my Basic Grey stash of stickers.  I think this took all of 10 mins. to make... you gotta love it.

Sorry it's such a long post but I got carried away and thought I would do a big share today.
