Here you can see all the pretty edges on the book.
So to start my book you will need the Bracket Edged Staggered Album... love, love, love this album and all the pretty edges that you have overlapping on it. You will also need lots of the new paper from Julie Nutting called French Flea Market and the stickers and ephemera that go with it too.
Start by tracing the chipboard pieces onto the paper with a pencil and then cut them out. Glue them to the fronts and backs of the pieces and let them dry.
Now you can take a nail file or sanding tool and sand around all the edges of the pieces. Add chalk ink around them too if you would like a more vintage look. I always love that so I use my favorite Versamagic Gingerbread ink for it and just lightly pass over the edges.
Next you can start to decorate the inside of the book. I made a card to fit on this page using a piece of cardstock and then decorated it with a border and this beautiful gate chippy. There are lots of these little fancy pieces in the store and they fit perfectly on the pages and give it a little extra wow.
I am a huge fan of these books because it makes it fun for those looking at it to see just a peek of the next page ahead of it. And it's fun for me to design it so that all the papers run together smoothly.
And if your feeling a little stressed for time ...don't worry. You can do these simple or really add lots of ribbons and extra flowers to them. Prima has the most gorgeous flowers and would really make it even more gorgeous to give to your mom.
And lastly you can make a pretty pocket to put lots of pictures. It really is fun to do these and it really doesn't take that long and then you have a special book to give!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have time to get in a quick order and make up a few of these for your mom and other really special family members. Have a wonderful day!!
