And here are the elebenty hundred steps I took to create this mixed media wall hanging.
I moved them around on a large piece of extra thick chipboard until I had an arrangement I liked then glued it all down.
A coat of Gesso sealed the materials and neutralized the kraft color of the chipboard.
Using a small palate knife I added additional texture with structure paste.
Acrylic primer seals all the layers and prepares them for the sprays in the next steps.
Adding some script with texture paste. Make sure you allow this layer to dry well before continuing on. Do not dry with a heat tool unless you like the look of poofy embossing.
Using a variety of sprays I began developing a color background base. Allow to dry between layers...it took several layers to arrive at the depth of color I wanted.
After several layers of the sprays it was saturated enough. I defined the edge a bit with black acrylic paint and also made sure that the edges were covered as well.
This chippie has been covered in embossing powder and heat set then accented with alcohol inks.
I began the focal arrangement with some tattered corrugated box, inked lace, and mesh netting.
A kraft tag, the altered chippie and clock embellishment are secured on with mat medium.
This is finished off with additional embellishments like altered flowers, metal key and bottle caps filled with micro beads, cheesecloth, last but not least a sentiment added tucked in behind the tag.
I hope my friend Annie loves this project as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Okay that's all for me. Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative.
