Happy Easter Peeps! Hope you are enjoying a lovely day with your family and enjoying the blessings of the holiday. I've created a tag gift to share with you today that will be a great addition to my SIL seasonal décor.



I mean how cute are those bunnies??????

This Flourished Frame Evie is just the perfect fit and helps to keep the image and the busy patterned papers from looking jumbled.

I clipped the small doily shapes from the Banner Strip and after altering them I tucked them just under the edges of the frame.

I'm using the Flourished Frame Evie and Border Banner Strips.

The chippies were finished with a combination of flat white, sparkly, and gold flecked embossing powders that were heat set.

Flowers, ribbon, a button, and spiral stamens finish off this tag with lots of detail.

Happy Sunday, Paper Peeps! Hope you are having a fabulous week. I'm just dropping in to share a traditionally styled Christmas card with a non-traditional color scheme.  I'm using my Gypsy Soul laser Cut chippies as the frame and focal image for this lovely wintery card and I'm just thrilled with how it turned out.

Pretty patterned papers and large dimensional flowers are the perfect accent to the altered chipboard pieces. 

Here's how I created the card....

I selected the chipboard I wanted to use by first fitting them together to make sure they all  worked to create a nice arrangement.

Using an embossing dabber and a variety of powders I was able to create lovely finishes on the chippies quickly so I could keep on working and not wait for wet paint to dry.  Silver for the Flourished Deer,  Bridal Tinsel for the Snowflake, and Weathered Wood for the Flourish Frame Evie. Of course these had to be  set with the heat tool before continuing.



I created a 6x6 card base with blue cardstock then layered on patterned papers all well inked and separated with solid borders.

With chipboard spacers I attached the center section and topped it off with a die cut doily, additional patterned paper cut into a circle and topped off with the frame.

I finished the card with Deer and accented him with the flowers, ribbon trim, sparkly branches and of course the altered snowflakes.

Create your own desk set with GSLC

Hi Everyone it's Teresa here with my first real post as a design team member for October and Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.  I did a post recently using one of the Flourished frames and this sparked an idea to come up with a new desk set for my office.  I did a few projects to share today so I hope you have time to stay and check it all out and I even have a quick tutorial for the phone stand.

Here is the first 3 projects that i did.  I used the Business Card holder, the Wrought Iron set, the Flourished Frames and the Tablet Phone stand for my projects.  I had the perfect papers from Maja Design to mix and match for it and all I needed was some pretty flowers and paint and I was set to go. On the business card holder I cut up one of the frames and used it to add more detail to both the top and bottom of the holder.  It matched really well with my little box and the frame that I did on the left for paper clips and other little trinkets that I seem to collect on my desk.

This is my phone stand and who wouldn't want this beauty to hold up your phone while it is charging away.  The beautiful and delicate details in the wrought iron really made this a show piece for me. 

Below is a step by step to show you how I did it so grab a cup of coffee and lets do this!

1. First take a small flat brush and paint a light coat of chalk paint on all of you pieces.  Top and bottom and front and back.  Let it dry and if it needs a second coat add another thin layer.  

2. To whiten it even more add chalk paint on top with a dabbing motion.  This will whiten it without giving you paint drips on the sides of the delicate laser cuts.  Use a clear spray or mat finish paint to seal all the pieces.  Then you can add rhinestones or pearls to the tops like I did.

3.  For the Phone stand you need the fence pieces in white and you can cut papers to cover your phone stand.  I measured each piece that i wanted to cover and then made it 1/4 inch smaller so that the edges would show on my piece.  Then i chalked around all the edges to make it more vintage.  I glued them on with my favorite Quick Dry adhesive by Scotch. This works great and doesn't leave those horrible bubbles on your papers.  And the best part is that it drys really, really fast.  

*A tip for the intricate pieces that you use is put some glue down on your plastic mat and spread it out flat--- then take your fancy pieces and rub them wrong side down into the glue gently.  The pieces will get coated in adhesive and not have a lot of drips showing.  Then just press them on to where you need them.

4. To finish it you can glue on the white wrought iron pieces on the back and on the front bar.  I also added a small spray of flowers to the top right to fancy mine up a little.  I really love shabby chic things and this was really fun to make for me and my desk.

Above is a quick closeup of how I did the business card stand.  This was super easy to make.

And this is a closeup of the trinket box.  I used a purchased box from my local craft supply store for this one and just covered it in matching papers and then added the frame to the top.  Super easy!!

Happy Saturday! How are you all doing? I haven't done a layout in FOREVER!!! So of course I created one and played with some awesome chippies.

I added lots of colors and lots of texture on this layout. 

I titled this layout with Joy. 

The really cool thing about leaves are these leaves with layered leaf petals.

Life is a Wonderful Fairytale Card

Hey there Peeps! It's Ginny here and I'm very excited that it's Thursday. My dear friend Barbara and I take over the GSL blog and show off our creations using the Fabulous Gypsy Soul chippies. I created a card with medieval flair with Enchanted Forest from Graphic 45.

 There's lots of layers of patterned papers here with spacers for a lot of dimension.

Using a distressing tool on the edges of the paper adds so much texture.

The focal image is framed with Flourished Frame Evie. A layer of crackle paint and some distress stain finishes it off to look like old metal.

Adding painted Feathery Flourishes to the flowers helps anchor the arrangement and extend it to the corners of the card.

More flourishes are a great place to add a sentiment banner.

With so much patterns going on I needed only a simple graphic striped ribbon and coordinating pearly accents.

Happy Memories Birthday Calendar by Pam Bray

Welcome to our Saturday "Happy" Blog posts with me and Shanna! So make sure you check out Shanna post today!!! I created a "Happy" Memories Wood Hanger for my inspiration piece today for you! As soon as I seen the Wood Hanging Stand with Pages I knew exactly what I was going to create!!!A BIRTHDAY CALENDAR!!! Yes, that is what it will become...EACH MONTH I will be adding a new page honoring each of my family members for their birthday!!!

 I began by first adhering paper to the top of a page insert.

 I always layout my pieces prior to adhering them to my project. 

 Paint the chipboard pieces with distress paint.

Spatter the painted pieces with black paint.

Adhere your photo under the frame and adhere to page. Paint Eiffel Tower and add stickles to top, once dry add to top of page.

 Paint the prepared "My Girl" with black paint. Allow to dry completely. Adhere to top of frame. 

Adhere paper behind the Tudor Rose. Place on front of page.Add flower, metals, paper pieces to page.

 Paint Wrought Iron Fence along with words. Adhere to front of Wood Hanger Stand.

 Add black metal nail heads to the bottom of fence. Adhere the prepare words, flowers and metals.

 Hello everyone,thanks for joining me again here at Gina's!

Today I would like to share something very special to me. September 19 was my Mom's birthday. She would have been 84. 

In honor of my Mom, I created this wall hanging using some of my favorite photos of her along with some of my favorite pieces from Gina's Designs.

 Read along as I share some photos and a few steps of my process.

This first photo is to show you a bit of how I work.

I had the general vision of what I wanted, but not sure of what elements I would use. The assorted Gina's pieces auditioned on and off and up and down, for about an hour before I finally (and I use that word lightly) decided!

For the base, I used covers from a book. They were gessoed, then painted, crackled and glued together.

 

 Next up painting the Flourished Frames Set-Evie (I used all three) and giving these a layer of crackle as well.

Gina's Peacock Feathers Shape Set are absolutely gorgeous! These fit perfectly into Mom's piece as she had a beautiful evening dress that my Dad had brought her back from Japan. The dress, iridescent Damask Silk, had Peacock feathers all over and was one of the colors I used for this.

After the Peacock Feathers were painted and placed along with the other chipboard, I felt I needed just a bit more. I went through my Gina's stash and found the perfect chipboard pieces!

Again a bit of separation was done -

I told you Gina's chipboard was versatile!

 Here I used the Wrought Iron Set and separated a few of the swirly embellishments for my accent pieces for the center.

   I was painting the words "A Moment in Time", when I noticed there was Mom in beautiful cursive, so I cut it from the phrase and  adhered it to one of the pieces from the Stackable Labels Set.
