Shabby and fancy coins

Hi everyone!

Myry again and today I gonna show you how to make these shabby and fancy coins.

You need Artist Trading Coins and some chipboards from Parisian Shape Set 

First glue the coins to the paper circles (both at the front and at the back); cut out more circles and break them in half.

Paint the border with white gesso or white paint; you can do this before gluing the paper circles.

Glue a piece of lace and then the half circle of paper on top.

Paint the chipboards with gesso/paint and ink the edges on both sides.

It's time to beautify!

 I am SO EXCITED that you popped by for a visit! This is going to be a very exciting month and a time for me to share my adventure as a Guest Designer for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. I am honored to be able to work with such a creative company and could never thank Gina enough for this opportunity. 

Each week during the month of August, I will be sharing a unique project using some of the amazing products from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. There are so many themes and items available, you would have never imagined. Be sure to pay them a visit. My first project involves, for those who know me this will be no surprise, a Parisian theme! I'm obsessed with all things French and there are several to choose from at Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

One of my favorite color combinations is pink and black. It reminds me of my childhood for some reason. This is the 7x7 Shadow Box with a Paris theme. This is what you get in the kit....

I also used items from the Parisian Shape Set. You really get a good amount of items to choose from, which I love. Who wouldn't?

Look how fabulous this turned out! Now you are hopefully inspired to do your own. That is why I created a couple of tutorials to show you not only how I designed the shadow box itself, but how to add vintage glass glitter and other elements.

I recently received this wonderful new stamp from Character Constructions newest stamp set called, "Paris Flea". This stamp comes from Plate No.4. I added lace and sewed some wonderful glass beads to her skirt. 

The next part of my project involved working with one of my favorite things. Yep, Vintage Glass Glitter. It just gives such life to an item as well as depth and beauty. But you do need to be a tad careful so as to not get a tiny cut, especially under the nails. Ouch.

 But don't let the fact that it is glass intimidate you. It's easy to work with and the results are fantastic.

Once I had all of the design elements I wanted to use, I placed the items on my shadow box to decide exactly where I wanted them to permanently be. I was able to easily add layers by using White Adhesive Foam. The more raised I wanted the item, the more layers I added. 

For the outer Eiffel Tower and "Paris" elements, I used some weight to hold each item down while the glue dried. I wanted a really solid attachment. 

Add a couple of vintage pins and now my Parisian beauty is complete. And as you can see from the pictures above, I have a ton of extra elements to play with. Won't be a problem for me since I am such a fan of Paris.

Happy Memories Birthday Calendar by Pam Bray

Welcome to our Saturday "Happy" Blog posts with me and Shanna! So make sure you check out Shanna post today!!! I created a "Happy" Memories Wood Hanger for my inspiration piece today for you! As soon as I seen the Wood Hanging Stand with Pages I knew exactly what I was going to create!!!A BIRTHDAY CALENDAR!!! Yes, that is what it will become...EACH MONTH I will be adding a new page honoring each of my family members for their birthday!!!

 I began by first adhering paper to the top of a page insert.

 I always layout my pieces prior to adhering them to my project. 

 Paint the chipboard pieces with distress paint.

Spatter the painted pieces with black paint.

Adhere your photo under the frame and adhere to page. Paint Eiffel Tower and add stickles to top, once dry add to top of page.

 Paint the prepared "My Girl" with black paint. Allow to dry completely. Adhere to top of frame. 

Adhere paper behind the Tudor Rose. Place on front of page.Add flower, metals, paper pieces to page.

 Paint Wrought Iron Fence along with words. Adhere to front of Wood Hanger Stand.

 Add black metal nail heads to the bottom of fence. Adhere the prepare words, flowers and metals.

Good morning! I wanted to share this month's challenge for Gina's Designs Craft Group on Facebook. We will be making altered puzzle pieces. You only need to alter one puzzle piece to enter the challenge, but feel free to make as many as you would like! There are no limits to the entries.

Standing Flip Book by Dianna

Hi Everyone, Dianna here with a collaboration with Gina's Designs and The Robin's Nest.  I chose Gina's Designs Standing Flip Book to use with The Robin's Nest Cardstock.  I simply adored using the Saffron Sunrise and the Venice Collection Cardstock.

First I spray painted the Standing Flip book bronze (make sure you do not spray paint the notches and do not let paint get into the holes).  On the corners of the stand and underneath frame I used Gina's Art Deco Corner Set.   I traced chipboard pages onto The Robins Nest, Saffron Sunrise Collection Cardstock, and cut out and distressed with ink while watching a movie.  I used Twinkling H20's on all the chipboard pieces.  Above, I used a piece from Gina's Parisian Shape Set, used punch to create the fleur-de-lis and added two buttons. The Robin's Nest Cardstock used are Striped Honeycomb and Fleur Honeycomb.

 

I used Gina's Lace Border Stick and The Robin's Nest Cardstock - Saffron Honey.

On this page I created a fold out using a cracker box and clipped it back with a key paperclip.  I used three different fall off from left over paper that I cut the pages from The Robin's Nest.  I had fun with the Twinkling H20's and created a burnished effect by layering the H20's light to dark.  I use a foam makeup applicator to apply each color.

This is the backside of the fold out.  I used The Robin's Nest, Fleur Honeycomb Cardstock and Time Flies Rub-on.

I thought this picture showed how nicely the Standing Flip Book pages looked with The Robin's Nest Cardstock (Fleur Honeycomb)  The butterfly is from Gina's Designs (special order).  I used Twinkling H20's to create the tarnished effect.  

On the last picture (there are actually 12 different pictures, 6 per side of the flip) I used Gina's Deco Lattice Panel 2 and The Robin's Nest, Stripe Tropicana cardstock.  I used Twinkling H20's on the lattic and some extra flowers to pull in some the green from the frame.  This picture is on the backside of the flip out and part of the key paperclip is showing.
