Style All Occasion Greeting Card

Hey Peeps! Ginny here dropping in to share an ultra feminine card I created with some fabby GSL chippies, printed papers, ribbon trims, and flowers.

I created a great layered look by stacking the flourishes on top of the frame.

The finish in crisp white helps to brighten the darker patterned papers.

I got lucky that the opening of the frame was just perfect for this cut apart sentiment.

Adding the crackle medium allowed me to include a peekaboo layer of gold paint for a very shabby aged look that compliments the florals.

This effect was really easy to accomplish with a few simple steps.....

These chippies were both fairly detailed but they have a different scale so they do not compete with each other. The smaller pieces were from the Flourish Set Amanda..I just snipped the longer section into two.  First step was a base coat of metallic gold paint. After drying I added a layer of crackle medium and allowed that to dry as well. Last but not least top off with flat white acrylic paint and wait for the magic to happen. I love to watch the cracks appear!!!

Life Is Beautiful All Occasion Greeting Card by Ginny

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here to share a lovely and romantic styled greeting card I created with some sweet chippies and pretty patterned papers and flowers.

Here's how I created the card....

I selected these chippies because the window opening was just the perfect size to frame the image I chose from the patterned paper. Additional flourish pieces will be layered on top.

I gave a base coat of flat white to all the pieces....even the ones I planned to finish with embossing.

Once the flourishes were dry I added white embossing powder with flecks of pink and gold. After heat setting it's a lovely shabby finish.

A layer of velum behind the window panes gives a sheer look and a base to add pink confetti for a faux shaker card look.

Oodles of pretty coordinating flowers and ribbon trim.

Sentiment banner layered over the larger flourish.

You can never have too many flowers so I added a few here to balance the arrangement on the bottom.  Small loopy twine bow to soften the corner.

Capture Thanksgiving Memories with Bracket Edged Stagger Album

Hello, Friends!  It's Kathy here with a great way to capture the memories from fall family gatherings.  Our great big noisy family loves Thanksgiving.  We also enjoy creating photo booths for our family gatherings.  We get great snapshots as everyone has fun hamming it up with various props.  This charming little album is the perfect spot to chronicle those events and maybe even tuck in a recipe or two.

 

The elegant Rose Tudor Singles chip looks great with these Authentique Harvest papers.  I used a mix of the Fall Shapes Set and some additional flourishes on the inside.  And I'll show you how I built this album step by step in this Snapguide tutorial.

Start Today With a Greatful Heart Card By Ginny

Hey there Peeps!  Don't ya just love when you find a perfect sentiment for a greeting card?  I found that very thing with this lovely thought...."Start Today With a Grateful Heart." Something I try to do everyday because there is always something big or small that brings joy to your life; even if it's the promise of a warm sunny day.

I finished the fabby Gypsy Soul Laser Cut Chipboard pieces with a base coat of white acrylic paint then added several layers of metallic paints and sprays. Gold would be flashy and silver would be the wrong tone....so why not both? I love the vintage look and it coordinates so well with the patterned papers.



The chippies are layered with the papers and images.  Distressing the edges of the papers helps to add texture and spacers between builds in loads of dimension.

Choosing a complimentary patterned paper to add to the inside is a nice finished look.

These white flowers were altered with sprays and micro beads. 

More micro beads for the chippies and some lovely coordinating metal charms.

You Make Me Smile Mini Album

Hello friends and welcome to Gina's Designs Blog today!  This is Debbie with you today sharing a mini album I made from scratch.  The cover, spine and back cover are made with some pieces of chipboard I had in my stash.  

I started this album out by covering it with patterned paper.  I have several of these older K and Company paper pads with matching embellishments so I decided to start making mini albums with them.  So far I've made 4 or 5, but love the colors on this one the most. I covered the spine with some lacy flower trim.

 The technique I used on the chipboard pieces is a several step process but love how it all turned out.  I started out by coating all the pieces with gesso.  

Step 2 is to paint with acrylic paint.

Step 3 emboss with a Hologram embossing powder- Hologram embossing powder has a glittery texture to it.

Step 4 is to spray with glimmer mist or your favorite spray and reheat the chipboard while the misting is still wet.  This should complete all your chipboard pieces.  

The next step is to decorate the front of your album!

 In this photo you can see that I added a little texture with modeling paste and a stencil.
