Pretty Pink Birthday Card

Hello and good morning! It's Gloria with you today. I made a pretty, pink birthday card to share. I don't get to use much "little girl" pink, since my children are young adults and none of them like pink! I let out my inner grandmother today and made a sweet pink card!

This card is a whopping 8" x 6"! I wanted something substantial, and perfect for adding a gift card to the inside. There is just something extra special about an over-sized card!

To create this card, start out by inking the birthday sentiment from the Birthday Shape Set with cupid pigment ink. Cover the inked chipboard with bubble gum scented embossing powder and heat set. (Yes, I said bubble gum scented embossing powder! And it really does smell like bubble gum, even after it's heated and cooled!)

Ink one of the shapes from the Little Dancers set with pepper pigment ink. Allow the ink to dry.

Create the card base by cutting one piece of black cardstock to 8" x 6". Cut a second piece of black cardstock to 8 1/2" x 6". Score at 1/2" from the top edge. Fold and burnish on the score line. Attach strong, double-sided tape to the 1/2" tab. Attach the two pieces of cardstock together to create a top-fold card, 8" tall and 6" wide.

Cut dark pink cardstock to 7 7/8" x 5 7/8" and attach the panel to the card front. Cut pink dotted paper to 7 3/4" x 5 3/4" and attach the panel to the card front. Glue the birthday chipboard sentiment to the top of the card, approximately 1/2" from the top edge.

Use a stitched die cut template to cut textured white cardstock to approximately 5 1/4" x 4" and attach the panel to the left side of the card. Use a stitched die cut template to cut dark pink cardstock to 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" and attach the panel to the white cardstock. Use a stitched scallop die cut template to cut printed cardstock to approximately 4 1/2" x 3 1/4". Attach the printed panel to the dark pink cardstock.

Attach the large doily (Intricate Cardstock Doily Set) to the card front as shown. Glue the little dancer shape to the left side of the card.

Glue a selection of flowers to the card, overlapping the doily as shown. Place two decorative pins into the top right section of flowers. Place pink and black sequins onto the card as desired.

Cut two pieces of dark pink cardstock to 7 7/8" x 5 7/8" and attach them to the inside panels of the card. Cut two pieces of white cardstock to 7 3/4" x 5 3/4" and attach them to the dark pink panels. Stamp a sentiment onto the white panel on the inside of the card with black ink. Cut strips of pink dot paper and attach them to the top and bottom panels.

Fashionista Hidden Drawer Book Box

Hi everyone!  It's Thursday again, and it is my turn to share another fun project with you using the fab laser cut chipboard from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.  I am a huge fan of books and boxes, and what better way to satisfy that need than with a Hidden Drawer Book Box.  Just think of the things you could stash inside this beauty... paper, pencils, love notes, ephemera, or how about a mini album made to fit?  What other ideas do you have?  I would love to hear them.

Lay out the pieces for the box that holds the drawer. 

Lay out the pieces that form the drawer.

Cover the inside of the drawer pieces with the script paper.  Use a craft knife to cut out the openings for the connector pieces.  Be sure they are free from any excess paper or glue to ensure a good fit when putting the pieces together.  I used tiny metal files to remove any residue that was left in them.

Adhere script paper to the inside pieces of the box and the inside of the drawer front. I then glued the box together, but you could glue the box together first and then cover the inside. 

(TIP:  Use a sanding block or emery boards to sand excess paper off of any edges where it may still show).

Adhere the box together and cover the outside with the flower paper.  Again, trim any excess paper and sand the edges for a more finished look.

Center a hole in both the front of the drawer, and the drawer front piece.

Add the drawer knob though the holes in both pieces.  The drawer is now ready to use.  Add Gold Krylon pen around all edges. 

Color two hinges with the Gold Krylon pen. 

Fold and adhere each hinge to back side of box.

Slide drawer into box.  Now start the embellishing.

Paint the Deco Lattice Panel 2 with chalk ink that matches colors in the paper.  Center and adhere to top of box.

Paint Fashionista with chalk ink to match the green in the paper.  Adhere to the left side of the panel.

Paint fern fronds in a similar but darker green chalk paint to match the papers, and arrange in the lower bottom right corner of the box top.  Add flowers, cut up pieces of intricate doilies, snippets of lace, and glass glitter.

Lastly, I decided to add a decorative escutcheon under the drawer pull using a stackable label that I colored with the gold Krylon pen.   Center and punch a hole in it, and add it beneath the drawer pull, as shown.

Love My Beautiful Life Frame by Pam Bray

Hi!!! It is Pam here today on the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Blog!!! I am sharing with you my "Love My Beautiful Life Frame".  As we are looking toward Easter this weekend I wanted to share something special so when I seen the Crosses on the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Shop, well needless to say I thought they were perfect!!!

I began by first cutting a piece of pattern paper and the Textured Flourish Sheet to fit inside the Cottage Base. I ran both piece through my Xyron Creative Station.

Leave both pieces on the adhesive backing. Paint the Textured Flourish Sheet and Love with white paint. Allow it to dry completely.

Take VersaMark and stamp across the painted Texture Flourish Sheet. Sprinke randomly with 5 different shades of embossing powder. Heat emboss.

 Carefully remove the embossed Texture Flourish Sheet and place on pattern paper.

 Form Cottage Base. Remove prepared Texture Flourish Sheet off off adhesive backing and place to inside of Cottage Base.

 Paint Gothic Cross, Flourished Frame Evie, Art Deco Border and Love with white paint.

Emboss the Flourished Frame Evie by inking with VersaMark and randomly sprinkling three of the embossing. Heat emboss.

Emboss the Gothic Cross and Art Deco Border with VersaMark. Sprinkle the Gothic Cross with two of the embossing powder and use only the Garnet on the Art Deco Border. Heat set.

Adhere Intricate Doilies to inside of frame. Adhere prepared Gothic Cross to inside of frame.  Adhere pattern paper strips to the sides of inside of frame.

 Adhere prepared Art Deco Border to inside of frame.  Add metal handle to top of frame.

 Add random flowers, bow, beads and embellishments to the inside of frame.

 Adhere metal corners to the corners of Cottage Base, along with more random flowers and beads.

Adhere prepared  Flourished Frame Evie to top of journal block. Adhere to inside of frame. Add embellishment.

 Adhere small Intricate Doily to top of Gothic Cross.

 Using VersaMark ink "Love" and emboss with embossing powder. Adhere to  Gothic Cross.

Sweet Shabby Chic Wall Hanging with Tutorial

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here and I'm dropping in to share a very shabby chic inspired wall hanging I created with the gorgeous Gypsy Soul Laser Cut chippies.

First here's a look at the finished project....

Okay here's all the steps to creating this Sweet Wall Hanging....

Give the chippies a nice base with a white gel pen.

Next use Spectrum Noir Markers to add color and highlights to leaves.

Add a layer of patterned paper to a canvas covered chipboard base.

Layer on a few vintage postcard images.

Top off with GSL Cardstock Doily.

Add a circle of coordinating patterned paper to the center of the doily.

Attach loopy bows and a generous amount of chevron striped ribbon to the top to hang.

Adhere the prepared Scribble Frame Birds to the center creating a border around the patterned paper.

Add prepared Leafy Corners to the top and bottom framing the postcard images.

Arrange some shabby chic inspired flowers to the bottom of the frame.

Top of bows and floral arrangement with vintage buttons and burlap string bows.

Another look at the finished project.   I think it's very Springy : )
