Myry again and today I'm going to continue show you how frames can be the best for your covers!

This time is the tourn of this beauty: Flourished Frame Elizabeth

If I had to choose any type of chipboard, it would certainly be the frames. Have you seen what a beauty?! It's true that small curves can be very delicate and break easily but it's worth working with them.

A trick to reinforce the delicate parts: put a light layer of medium gel or some hardener in the most delicate areas. Paint everything, not only what is visible but also inside. I usually use two types of brushes: a thick one for the general face and a very fine one to reach all the corners. 

Paint the frame with shades of the same color, in my case pink, first the lightest and then the darkest. 

I remove part of the dark color with a rag so that the light color can be seen underneath, this gives it a vintage touch.

But if you want more contrast paint the frame with a different color, like this turquoise.

Tip: take advantage of the holes in the frame to sew it to the cover for greater support (especially if you have put some padding underneath to enhance the embroidery), you can cover the seams with pearls or other small embellishments.

Make embellishments with Postage Stamp Blanks

Hi everyone!

Myry again and today today I'm going to do an experiment with these Postage Stamp Blanks.

I'm going to use different types of thin gauge paper as for decoupage or napkins.

The first and most important thing to do is clean the chipboars very well, especially the edges. Clean them with a rag. This way you'll avoid dirtying your work.

The second thing I'm going to do is paint a light layer of gesso on the sides and the edges.

And now I'm going to experiment with the different papers to see how they look once sticked: napkin, decoupage paper, patterned silk paper and masking tape. The process is the same with all: put a light layer of glue and stick the piece of paper on top. Smooth it well with the help of the wet brush.

Cut the excess right on the edge and push the excess paper out of the edges with the help of the brush, a dooting tool (something like that) and a file. You can make a small cuts in the paper to make the process easier.

And with a little care and time: voilà!

The best have been with the napkin and the masquin tape (the middle one and the bottom two). Interesting result indeed!

Myry again and today I'm going to continue show you how frames can be the best for your covers!

I'm going to use this new frame and the first thing I'm going to stick both pieces on the paper. I'll cut both figures with scissors and cutter but If you aren't good at cutting you can copy the border of the frames on the paper, cut and stick them on top.

Then paint the edge with brown acrylic paint to give it an aged touch...

and once dry stick the small piece on top of the other.

I've prepared this embroidery and a cardboard lined with fabric where I'll stick the frame.

I recommend you not to cut the edge of your embroidery in the same way as me, especially if you want to fill it with wadding. If you've cut it like me you'll have to stick the wadding on the back making a ball and very carefully (on the other hand, if you've left enough fabric you can make a bag).

Once finished stick the frame to the cover and that's it!

I think it's a lovely idea for journal covers.

A house frame

Myry here again and today I'm going to show you how make a house frame!

You can find some silhouettes like this one in the store. I love this house shape a lot!!

So this set includes 3 pieces but I'm only going to use the chipboard ones (I have in mind to cover the cork piece with fabric and use it as a hanger)

Copy the two silhouettes on two scrap papers

Paint the edges of the frame (you can also hide them by sticking white cardboard on top for example)

Stick each paper in place and then the frame. Gently wipe the surface with a rag to make sure the paper sticks completely

Measure the width of the frame and stick some strips of scrap paper (you can also use paint)

Measure each space and cut the photos leaving a small margin so that the background paper can be seen. And once the photos are sticked it's time to embellish!!

I think it's a very nice way to keep some pictures. And you can decorate your frame with the style you like!

I just love shaker frames

Hi everyone!

Myry here and today I'm going to make a shaker with another of Gypsy's frames. 

This is "Sunflower frame" but you can choose the one you like.

First, use the frame as a template and copy its shape on the scrap paper. Measure the width and make as many strips of the cardstock as you need.

Cover the inner and outer contour with the strips (try it! although you can always paint the edges with paint)

Make a circle of acetate about the same size as the frame circle (or whatever shape yours is)

Stick the image you want under the frame, place the sequins inside, stick the acetate and the scrap paper frame on top.

Put the shaker in its place and time to decorate!

Simple chipboards make beautiful pages

Hi everyone!

Myry here and today we're going to talk about how chips can embellish our album pages. Something very simple for some but it can be a challenge for others.

I recommend you to have at least 2 types of chipboards: shapes like hearts, circles... and plants; and to be on the safe side: frames and elements like corners.

Once we've chosen the theme of our pages, we can color our chips. In my case I'm making a mix between vintage and heritage, so I decided to take advantage of the original color and only give it a diffuse touch of brown.

So let's start with shapes and plants. Doodles Set 1 is the most versatile set I've ever used. I love it!

Take a look! All you need is in this set. Place the small shapes between the different elements like flowers, leaves or diecuts, so that they stand out.

No matter how simple may seem, it will always add a special touch to the composition

And of course, some natural elements can embellish very well every page

Let's now move on to frames like this chipboard: Arliss Frame. Don't be afraid to use the frames in different ways: I've used the round frame to make a shaker (turn it over if necessary)

And corners no need introduction: they can decorate any corner; the space for a photo, a frame... 

So many possibilities!

Gothic Junk Journal

Hi everyone!

Myry here again! I'm finally back after a long time! I wish all our readers are well :) We live extraordinary days indeed.

Today I'm going to show you how I decorated a Gothic Junk Journal with chipboards.

I've used all these halloween chipboards and I've recycled the bases of other chipboards. I've also used three paints: one acrylic and two metallic. Once we've cleaned the chipboards we paint them directly without applying anything more.

I've decided to use Creepy Signpost for the back of the cover because I find it very useful to write on the boards.

We can put these chipboards playing cat and mouse game.

We can use the bases of our finished chipboards or pieces of them to create backgrounds.

We can combine different colors too:

And decorate our envelopes too:
