Hello everyone! Sandy here with a last minute Christmas project for you using some of the fabulous chipboard products from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. I made three different Christmas tags and I have a quick tutorial for each one and a supply list at the end of this post. Let's get started...
Tag #1 Reindeer Snow Tag
Step 1: Cover the tag with two coats of white Gesso and allow to dry.
Step 2: Use a sponge dabber to coat the reindeer with white Gesso. I coated two of the reindeer but chose to use only one on my tag. You will also want to coat the chipboard snowflakes with Gesso (not shown in photo) and allow all to dry.
Step 3: Use a spatula and a background template to apply texture medium. I am using a homemade medium but any thick texture medium will work. Remove the template and allow to dry completely before proceeding. You may want to use a heat gun.
Step 4: Rub a gold metallic mousse medium over the background of the tag leaving some of the areas white.
Step 5: Also apply the metallic gold mousse medium to the reindeer you've chosen for your tag.
Step 6: Attach the reindeer to the bottom of the tag using a strong wet adhesive.
Step 7: Select ribbons and other elements such as greenery and flowers. I added a bit of the gold mousse to the paper greenery I used on my tag. Use hot glue to attach the ribbon bow and floral elements to the top of the tag.
Step 8: Apply another coat of white Gesso to your snowflakes with a foam dabber and while wet, sprinkle on some white snow glitter. Allow to dry completely.
Step 9: Glue the snowflakes onto your tag. Finish it with a small gold jingle bell and some metallic gold twine tied into a bow and glue to the reindeer's neck.
Tag #2 Cardinal Snow Tag
Step 1: Select patterned paper for the front and back of your tag. I chose Graphic 45's Twelve Days of Christmas. Use a pencil to trace the tag on the back side of your paper and cut out with scissors. You will need one for the front and one for the back.
Step 2: Glue the paper to the front and back of the tag. Make sure you punch the tag holes each time you add the patterned paper to the tag (front & back).
Step 3: Rub silver mouse medium along the bottom edges of the tag as shown in the next photo.
Step 4: Fussy cut out elements from your paper such as the roses and birds from the Twelve Days of Christmas paper. Glue to the bottom of the tag as shown.
Step 5: Use a foam dabber to apply white Gesso to the cardinal bird on the branch.
Step 6: Next, use different paints or shimmer paints you may have to paint the cardinal red and the branch green. Add a touch of the gold metallic mousse as desired.
Step 7: Glue the cardinal onto the tag above the fussy cut image.
Step 8: Add white Gesso to the snowflakes and while still wet, sprinkle with white snow glitter. Allow to dry completely.
Step 9: Glue the snowflakes onto the tag. Use hot glue to attach an arrangement of roses or other flowers to the bottom of the tag. Add in other elements such as silver bead strands or loops.
Step 10: Spritz red seam binding ribbon with Perfect Pearls spray, crinkle up and dry with a heat gun. Tie to the top of the tag.
Tag #3 Merry Christmas Shaker Ornament Tag
Step 1: Ink the frames of the chipboard ornament with gold metallic mousse.
Step 2: Use Glossy Accents to glue the clear acrylic piece into the outer ornament frame and sprinkle in white seed beads.
Step 3: Use the ornament frame as a template and trace a large circle out of patterned paper. I used Graphic 45 St Nicholas 8x8 Papers.
Step 4: Glue the patterned paper circle to the back of the ornament sealing in the seed beads you added into the acrylic piece. Then glue the other ornament frame to the back over the patterned paper (Not shown).
Step 5: Use the tag as a template and trace on to the back of patterned paper. Cut two.
Step 6: Glue the papers to the front and back of the tag. Make sure you punch out the tag holes. Use ribbon or twine to tie the ornament onto the tag as shown below Also ink the edges of the tag with the gold metallic mousse.
Step 7: Glue various flowers, Christmas trims, ribbon and tinsel to the top of the ornament.
Step 8: Use embossing ink and white embossing powder to add a sentiment to the bottom of the tag.
And that completes this set of Christmas tags. These can be tied on to gifts, used as Christmas tree ornaments or given as a gift.]

Thank you so much for reading my post and following along with the tutorials. The Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts tags are wonderful for any occasion--think ahead for Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day etc. and keep a supply on hand for when you need to create an extra special tag. Because they are made out of chipboard they are very sturdy and can handle a lot of embellishments.
This is my last Christmas project for this season, but I will be back on December 29th with a really fun project that can be used year round.
