Hi Everyone, Dianna here with my version of Halloween Bagatelle boxes using Gina's Designs and Creative Paperclay!.  I used four boxes and distress painted the outside and used scrap Halloween paper for the inside.  I did not paint the inside of the boxes because I wanted the highlights.  I punched the tag that says so spooky and distressed the edges.  The spiderweb and Spooky are from the Gina's Designs and both were painted white.  I then used Stickles for more bling.  I painted a Triptych Arch Top silver and topped it with a rhinestone string. 

I had a blast using the Creative Paperclay Delight! I bought molds and used the clay in the molds. The owl, pumpkin and bat were created with the Creative Paperclay.   It is really easy to use, just spread the paperclay in the mold and pop it out.  I waited for it to dry, about a couple of hours and then used my Copic Markers and colored them.  The markers were easy to use on the paperclay.  I look forward to using more paperclay in my projects. 

The witches hats were created with a 1-1/2 inch circle punch and then punching a 1 inch punch in the center.  I then used a 2 inch punch and then cut a triangle out of the 2 inch circle.  I then glued the sides of the triangle together and glued the top of the hat to the bottom circle. I then decorated the hats with items laying around the house.

DREAM - Word Art by Lynne

Hello there and happy Monday! Yeah I know, a lot of people think those two words don't belong together, but as long as you have a dream in your heart, every day can have at least a little bit of "happy" in it! I created this piece with word art by Gina to remind me of that on days when I need a little boost.

After painting the edges of the piece, I covered each letter with patterned paper from the beautiful Prima Royal Menagerie collection and then sanded the edges with Sandits before inking them. The base was also covered with coordinating paper.

The sand dollar from Gina's Beach Shape Set was covered with homemade texture paste (I spread it with my finger to keep it from going into the cutout parts-I love to get myself messy!) and the starfish was spread with sand paste made up of sand, white glue and acrylic paint.

 

I added tulle to the base behind the word to showcase the paper butterflies which were attached to  pearl sprays. The dragonfly and shells are Prima resin pieces which were dry-brushed with acrylic paint. Some ribbon roses and pearls completed the project.

The Not-So-Scary Scarecrow by Barb

I've had this project waiting in the wings for a few weeks. In fact, as soon as I received my Fall Shape Set from Gina's Designs, I ignored everything else I had to do and did this project instead. So many fun pieces and possibilities!

I began the project with a 7 x 9" canvas panel. I sponged on blue paint for the sky, and brown for the dirt. I used rubber stamps and dark green craft ink for the grass. I set that aside to dry and worked on all the pieces I wanted to use. 

For the "Fall" banner, I used a dark amber ink pad on the background pieces and copper irRESISTibles spray for the letters.

I wanted the corn stalks to look not much different than how they came, so all I did was stamp on them with olive colored ink. I painted the scarecrow's face and the crow with felt tip markers and ink pens - I used a white gel pen to mimic burlap and make the crosshatch on his face.

I turned to my scrap pile of fabric to clothe him, cutting pants from an old pair of jeans and the shirt from an old t-shirt. To give the shirt a bit more interest, I stamped on the fabric with a dark orange ink and gave it buttons by dabbing on Liquid Pearls.

And what's a scarecrow without stuffing?! We've all seen that movie! So, I took a few small pieces of twine, frayed them, and tucked them under the sleeves and pants to look like straw.

This project also gave me the chance to use some Creative Paper Clay and my new Sandits. I had never used either before, but now I'm kind of addicted to both! 

The pumpkins were pretty easy to do. I simply rolled little dough balls and flattened them out a little. I used the dull edge of my X-acto knife to make the pumpkin ridges. I let them dry for a while and then dribbled orange alcohol ink all over them. I made the stems by pinching little bits of the clay and doused them with alcohol ink too.

After they dried, the stems weren't flat enough to stick to the top of the pumpkins, so I used my Sandits tool to sand them and the pumpkins down just enough so I could glue on an even surface. I did the same thing with the back of the pumpkins so they would sit flat against my canvas panel.

It was a lot of work and a lot of steps, but it was so much fun to do. Bonus! I got to learn some new crafting skills and play with new products.
