Gypsy Soul Business Card Holder

Hello friends, Debbie with you today sharing my Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Business Card Holder. Everyone has business cards from companies, doctors and people they do business with everyday.  So instead of keeping them in a pile or corner somewhere this little Business Card Holder is perfect for organizing them and you can personalize for your taste!  

To make this you simply assemble the Business Card holder using a strong adhesive, I like Tacky Glue for this because it dries fast and holds together.  

Once the glue is dry I gave it a quick coat of acrylic paint.

Next step is to adhere your favorite patterned paper.
I added some embossing to the edges.

Finish it off by embellishing.

Hello to all you out there! Shanna here with a new little house to share! With Saint Patrick's Day coming up I thought we could use a little luck! 

I love these little houses. They make great desk pieces to add fun sentiments and reminders in. 

Just like this one I made. 

I painted the house with several silks acrylic glaze. 

The clover got a cover of paint and then a coating of crackle accents. Of course I used a lucky sentiment to remind me when times get tough that I am lucky!

Tooth Fairy Cart with Tutorial from Nichola

Where the heck did February go? That sucker went by in a flash! Anywho, it's the first Friday of March... and that means a new tutorial from little old me for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

Last week I had a very interesting letter from the Department of Tooth Fairy Affairs. It seems that there is spike in tooth loss and the Tooth Exchange Fairies (the troop who preform the tooth/reward transactions) are having a hard time keeping up with the demand.



They asked very nicely if I might come up with a wee cart design, something to help with the transporting of goods, while remaining true to the Tooth Fairy Dress, Appearance and Conduct Code. (Fairies like to be very official.) I was happy to oblige.



With a Bagatelle Box, Wheels, and Keys & Plates Shape Set from Gypsy Soul, some scrapbook paper, doweling, glitter and trims... I set to work.



In no time at all I had assembled a tiny cart fit for a fairy! And while this one is intended to assist the Tooth Fairy Department with distribution and exchange, I'm sure that it would come in handy for other fair folk to exchange sweets, flowers, seeds, and cake crumbs too.

H.P. Lovecraft Shrine

Hey guys, it's Jess! This week for the blog I've used the GSLC house shrine to create a shrine to one of my horror heroes - H.P. Lovecraft. Cthulhu, R'lyeh, Fish Men - the Lovecraftian mythos is absolutely fascinating and horrific.

 Tentacles are always a huge part of the dimensions, so I've used the Ocean Creatures Sets (both large and small) for their octopus' tentacles.

 I snipped off the tentacles and slipped them in behind the picture of Mr. Lovecraft himself.

 The Elder Sign is featured on the front of this ancient tomb of lore.

 The entire box is textured with Polly Filla and then painted with various shades of washes.

Mushroom Fairy Garden House

Hey there everyone!  Barbara here with my third in the series of mini house shadow boxes by Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.  Today's project is a Mushroom Fairy Garden House.  I had so much fun making this one.  I hope you like it.  To see my previous mini house shadow box, please click here.

As always, I start out by laying out my pieces so I can see clearly how to glue them together.

Paint box inside and out with flesh tint acrylic paint, or color that matches your paper.  Then cover box, inside and out, with Prima Fairy Rhymes paper.  The roof was covered with natural birch bark strips.  

I painted the mushrooms with white gesso first, then began the coloring process with Caran'dache NeoColor II water soluble crayons.  I did not color all of these, but I was not sure which ones I would use for my fairy garden until I got started.  I used a white gel pen to do a little pen work on the mushroom heads, an idea I borrowed from my good friend and fellow team mate, Pam Bray.  

Paint the fairy with black acrylic paint, including the wings.  Then color the wings with Pearl-Ex watercolors in a blue interference color, then add a bit of green interference color, as shown.  The interference colors only show up really well on a black or dark surface.

Using foam dots in varying levels, I adhered the two mushrooms inside the box, as shown.  Reindeer moss was added as garden filler.

Foam dots were placed beneath the fairy to raise her up and glued at her knee and foot.  You can see where the glue is still wet on her foot.  

The largest strip of mushrooms (colored in the photo above) was wrapped around the base of the house and glued to the front and back bottom only.    Use fingers to shape and bend the mushroom base and the mushrooms themselves.  

Tiny resin flowers and bits of reindeer moss were adhered along the base and the roof, as shown.

Crystal glitter glue was added to the leaves for extra magical sparkle.

Dreamin' of the Magic of Oz by Pam Bray

 I am Dreamin' of spring but going to the Magic of Oz might be fun also...lol

 I began by covering the Dream Stand Up chipboard with paper.

Paint the Gear Borders and Corners along with Diamond Texture Sheet with distress paint.
Allow to dry completely, spatter with white and black paint. Allow to dry completely.

Adhere Diamond Texture Sheet to top of pattern paper. Place the prepared Corner Gears on top of texture sheet. Adhere the prepared Dream Stand Up to top of texture sheet ...add the covered Dream letter to the top of stand. This will now become a dream hanger.

 Fussy cut pieces from pattern paper, add to the top of Dream hanger.

 Adhere the prepared Gears Borders under the Dream Hanger.

 Add fussy cut images to the Dream Hanger.

Facebook Challenge for March by Dianna

Hi Everyone, Dianna here with a new Tag for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Craft Group Monthly Challenge.  The first of each month there is a new challenge.  March is a color challenge and it is Green! Anything Green! 

All you have to do is become a member of the Craft Group on Facebook and submit your entry.  The winning entry will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

For this months Tag from the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts -Tags in a Box Display, I used Graphic 45 - Mother Goose for the Tag.  I then painted a light coating of white paint.  I then used a shamrock die, Graphic 45 - Humpty Dumpty and three different plain green papers.  There are about 50 shamrocks on this Tag.  I distressed all the shamrocks and used a light mist of waters to "shape" the shamrocks.

I painted the cauldron from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Be Witched Shape Set and cut off the feet.  I then painted it black, used black and green Stickles all over the cauldron.  I then used a medium hole punch and gold paper as coins.  The Irish girl is a stamp from Taylored Expressions colored with Copic Markers.  The flags are from a special order from Gyspy Soul Laser Cuts. The Best of Luck was cut out from Graphic 45 - Children's Hour - March.
