Mitten Banners by Deann and Kim

Happy Friday everyone! Today we have our two designers, Deann and Kim up with their take on our Mitten Micro Mini Album.  First up is Deann with her take...

Good morning, Deann here with a dual project with Kim! We both made the Mitten Micro Mini Album. We decided to turn the mini into banners.

I used the My Minds Eye Holly Jolly 6x6 paper pad to cover the mittens.

 I used Heidi's Stars Shape Set on some of the cuffs.

 I also used the Snowflakes Shape Set.

I found really cute jingle bells at the Dollar Tree, they look so cute!

Next up is Kim with her very pretty Banner!

Hello friends, today I am here to share with you my take on the Micro Mitten Mini Album. I turned the mini into a vertical banner for my front door.  I started off my banner by using some of the pieces from the Winter Shape Set, the tree and the "Let it Snow" sentiment.  I embossed the words and layered them over the tree which I used some Snow Tex on to give the illusion of snow, and topped the tree off with one of the bling buttons from Craftsupplies1.

Here is the mittens which hang below the Let It Snow sentiment, it hangs on my front door.

 Below here are my mittens, I used some Lawn Fawn paper on them, then went around with some chalk inks to distress them a little. I topped the mittens off with some gorgeous laces, flowers and trim from Craftsupplies1, along with some fun Christmas mini lights I had in my stash.

I used some of the snowflakes from Gina's Snowflake set, which I textured and added some tinsel embossing powder to give them some shine. For the letters, I used some of the lady bug Prima chalk ink and then embossed on top of them  with a clear glitter embossing powder. I also used some embossing paste and a Tim Holtz stencil, Stars, to create a wintery background on the mittens.

I am really happy with how this turns out. Deann and I loved making this so much, that Gina is going to make a Snow Mitten Banner which will be in the store soon!

Celestial Stage by Nancy and Banner by Veronica

Today we have two projects to share.  First up is Nancy with one of our fun altered art pieces.  This piece can be decorated to suit any number of themes.

Hi everyone, Nancy here!  I had so much fun decorating this Stage.  I love anything to do with the sky, stars, moon and all things celestial, so I thought I'd call my creation "Reach For The Stars".  I added lots of textures to this piece with chunky glitter, glass beads, bead gel, shabby embossing powders, mica, gilder's paste, etc.

Hello Everyone! Veronica here, to share with you Gina's lovely C-R-E-A-T-E Dovetail Banner.

I added Gina's Doily Intricates to give the letters some pop.

Here is a her Butterfly Of Gears. Just adds a creative feel to the banner's theme.

Here I added one of Gina's String Alongs this one is" Sewing", and of course I couldn't finish without one of Gina's wonderful Flourishes Miniatures!

Filmstrip Shadowbox Assortment

Every now and then we get a chance to highlight a product and show several different interpretations.  Today we have three different visions using the Filmstrip Shadowbox.

In a previous blog post Nancy shared her Nature Assemblage version of this product.  Nancy used the box horizontally and gave it a very outdoorsy feel.  This project features something new in every peek.

Kathi's version of the Filmstrip box incorporates a vintage Hollywood feel.

Kim's version of the Filmstrip shadowbox has an antique and shabby flavor, reminding me of collections that hung on the walls in my great grandmother's parlor.

Kim here, today I would like to share with you my Filmstrip Shadowbox. I have used lots of wonderful items from Gina's store and mixed them with some cool metal pieces and a couple of vintage items. I have used one of my favorite paper lines to decorate this box, the Bo Bunny
Mamarazzi paper line.

In this section of the shadowbox you can see one of Gina's chipboard cameras from the "Say Cheese" set.
I have embossed it with chunky white embossing powder, then used a red
rubber music stamp to make an impression in the embossing powder, then
rubbed some Patina Guilder's Paste overtop. I then added a vintage light
bulb I found in my hubby's workshop, a few flowers in black and sky
blue and some Tim Holtz Film Strip inside. You can also see on the side
of this section a metal clock with a vintage pin of my late father in
law's from one of the camera clubs he belonged to.

 

In
these sections below, you can see on the left I have spelled out the
word Smile in scrabble tiles and added them to the filmstrip piece. I
then used a metal sentiment beside it and inside the box, again, I have
used another camera piece from the Say Cheese Set. I used a cute little metal charm that looks like an old movie camera and more lovely flowers in black, blue and aqua.

On
the photo on the right you can see the bottom section, it has a metal
arrow from my stash and also I accented the corner with some of Gina's
wonderful gear pieces from the Gear Set. You can also see a metal clock working piece inside with a metal filigree corner and some more flowers as well.

Making Her a Star

Today Shanna here to share a layout of my cutie before her bad streak came out. She loved touching everything and was always so inquisitive. Being outside was always fun for her and to this day she still loves plants and tearing leaves off of things lol.

We had so much fun with this photo shoot and the pictures were the perfect size to fit the filmstrip. I couldn't help making my baby a star!
