XO Wall Kit

Hello to my fellow crafty creators out there. Shanna here with a new creation to share, for your inspiration.

I got this amazing wall kit last year but never got the chance to create with it. Now it is that time of year and I decided to create a little holiday decor.

I painted the love birds with black chalk paint. The X's and O's and heart boarder got a coat of gesso so it would pop off the reddish background.

There are tons of goodies in the Valentine's Day section of the store so grab some chippies and create with us! Also, make sure to check out Pam's project on the blog today!!

Mixed Media Canvas by Kim F

Good morning friends! Today I am sharing a fun mixed media canvas. This is a 4 x 6 canvas I had in my stash and I love the white, blue and black theme. I started of with a coat of white gesso on the canvas and then used my sprays in coordinating colours.  I then cut several squares with my 2 inch punch and layered them on top of the paint and sprays.

Next, I got out some stamps and did some stamping in the background. Once that was complete it was time to put on my chipboard pieces.  I layered on some fun pieces from other sets in Gina's store, that is what I love about her shape sets, they have pieces in them that you can use on various projects.

Below here you can see the stackable labels I painted and used my alpha stamp on and then used Gloss Accents over it. I love the high gloss on it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Love You Valentine Layout by Kim

Hello friends and Happy Valentines Day tomorrow! I wanted to show a rather non traditional Valentine project today, and the XO XO Wall Hanging Kit was the perfect base for it! I used some of the Enchanted Garden paper from Bo Bunny as my base, then used some sprays in matching colors, and some texture paste and script stamp. This completed the background and I was ready to embellish.

The heart above is from the Build A Layout Love Birds Set which I embossed in a teal color and added some glitter for sparkle. The X and 0 from the wall hanging I also did the same treatment to just using a different color.

Below is the Love You Script, also from the Love Birds set. I used just some fine white embossing powder, as there was enough color going on, and I wanted the sentiment to stand out.

The fairies are fussy-cut from the paper line and for their wings I used some butterfly stickers I was sent from a friend. They worked out perfectly.

Finally, in the top corner of the layout, I used the Butterfly Corner, which is a new piece from Gina. I painted it with some Silks Acrylic Glazes in different colors to pick up on the color theme I was going for. I added some flowers to the corner and also used some Prima Resin Butterflies throughout the piece to finish it off.

I really enjoyed making this piece. It was a lot of fun to think outside the box and use some very non traditional colors and themes for Valentines Day.

I hope you will pop over to Gina's Store and check out all the new pieces she has in stock!

Happy Valentines to everyone!

A Mini Album From Mary, and More Valentine's Day Fun With Heidi

We have two projects to share today.  First up is Mary with a sweet dog-themed mini album.

Hello everyone! Mary here with one of Gina's Dog Bone Mini Albums featuring my dog, Molly. The album contains six bone shapes to use for the covers and pages.

The first thing I did was gesso the bones.  After that I covered each of the bones with paper from The Pets Stack by DCWV and inked all the edges. On the cover I have an embossed frame with two metal pieces, and metal letters spelling out "Molly".

Here are the first two pages of the book. The "sweet" is a cutout from the paper collection and is attached to one of the dog bone tags that comes with the album.

Above is page three and four of the album.

On page three I used the three-frame film strip that comes in the "Say Cheese Shapes Set".

This is page five and six showing the two things she loves best; her tennis balls and napping on the couch!

Here we have pages seven and eight. The Polaroid frame is from the "Say Cheese Shapes Set". The "fun" is from the paper collection and placed inside one of the embossed miniature bookplates.

Pages nine and ten complete the book. I used another miniature bookplate and the word "joy" on page ten. Thanks for stopping by the blog today! For more pictures and details of the mini album, please visit my blog HERE.

Next up is Heidi with a project designed especially for Valentine's Day.  This fun wall hanging kit has been done by a few team members earlier this month with each one looking very different.  Below is what Heidi did with hers.

Hi, it's Heidi here!  Today I have a cute little project for Gina's Designs.  It is a wall hanging kit with everything you need to create a cute Valentine project.  I began by covering the back piece of chipboard with some cute little XOXO paper from SU.  I then painted the X's and O's with pink and white paints and then added a little texture to the tops of the pink ones.  I also used a few little gems on the whites to give it a little extra sparkle.  The pink heart border is also part of the kit.
