CREATE Banner with Gina

My friend recently moved into a new home and will begin organizing a basement craft room soon.  I wanted to make a decoration for her walls and decided to do the CREATE Banner.

I inked the scalloped background pieces around the edges.  I prefer ink to paint if I want a more rustic look with the texture of the chipboard more prominent.

I papered the front panels, all nice straight lines so easy to trace and cut the paper.  

I inked the letters the same color as the background pieces.

I also inked up some of the Owl Elements and colored in the branches and leaves with a marker.

I attached the owls above the letters on the banner pieces.

Using my silent setter I made a small hole at the top corner of each piece.

I used twine to attach the pieces.  Here it is all ready to go to my friend.

Steampunk Debutante Smile Card by Pam Bray

Hi it is Pam today on the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Blog!!! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my Steampunk Debutante Smile Card using lots of fun chippies from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. 

Begin card by adhering pattern paper to top of card base once the edges have been distressed using a distress tool. Add border under strip; adhere to prepared card front. 

 

 

Stamp " Smile" to top of card front with black ink. Adhere Steampunk Doily to top of card front. 

Paint the Tudor Rose Singles, Owl Elements and Leafy Branch with Birds; dry completely. 

Adhere prepared chipboard to top of card front. 

Add metal gears and brads to owl eyes.

Adhere small gears to inside brad and beak.

Add borders to inside of card along with stamp images that have been fussy cut from pattern paper.

Add flowers and bow to card front along with a fussy cut butterfly and berries.

Facebook Challenge for June by Dianna

Hi everyone, Dianna here with a new Project for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Monthly Challenge.  The first of each month there is a new challenge.   This month's challenge is a bird challenge, anything to do with birds and/or wings.

I was inspired by a post on Pinterest.  I changed it up by using Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts and by going                 3-dimensional. I first painted a canvas with an apple green and then used a teal and darker green for contrast.  I then painted a tree with a large branch for the owls to sit.  I used Twinkling H20's on Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Owl Elements, Mini Flourishes Bella, Words and Phrases- Enjoy the Moment, Little Bird House and Little Bird Box. 

I was heavy handed with the texture paste on the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Fern Fronds and painted the ferns with greens and browns. I glued beads and micro beads in the shape of leaves and added the beads to the fern fronds.  I used pieces that dropped off some of the other Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts chipboard items (yes, I save everything) to create wings on the Owls.  The decorative scroll work on two of the owls is drop-off from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts - Dragonflies Fancy.  I used drop-off chipboard pieces to give dimension to the owls by gluing the pieces to the owls prior to gluing the owls to the canvas.  I then inked all the pieces prior to placing everything on the canvas.
