Shabby Sewing Heart with Canvas Corp Brands

Hi folks, Cherry here today at the GSLC Blog!   Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts had a fun product match up this month with Canvas Corp Brands.

  What fun it was using both companies products together.  Kinda a match made in heaven.   I created this fun shabby heart with a sewing theme.  Perfect little decor for a sewing or craft room.

 I started with these fun mini display tray hearts  as my base and decided to spray paint them with ballerina pink spray paint. 

Than I traced my inside heart with this sweet sewing paper from 7 Gypsies .

I added a double layer of lace to the inside.

I wrapped the heart with seam binding diagonally.

From here I layered the tray heart on top and started adding all my embellishments including this Ironwork frame.  I spray painted it as well.  I also highlighted areas of frame with some white acrylic paint to shabby it up a bit.

           I used some awesome Architexture embellishments including this cool sewing machine and those sweet little girl Mary Jane shoes.  

I added some pretty velvet blooms, vintage measuring tape, and a metal bobbin to complete my project. 

 I adore those little patent leather Mary Janes!

Valentine Plaque

Hello folks! Valentine's Day is just around the corner so I was inspired to make a fun Valentine Plaque using the Mini Display Tray-Heart. I chose this partly because when I was thinking about making a Valentine, it struck me as I picked it up that it's about the same size as a smallish box of Valentine chocolates.
Having had that thought, I immediately had to paint it chocolate brown and then the rest of the piece fell into place.

I started out with my usual coat of gesso and while that was drying I cut and glued the paper to the back piece. A nice rich shade of brown with some gold highlights.

I painted the top frame piece with a matte acrylic brown, making sure I got the sides and all the inside bits.

I cut out my collage images and played with the arrangement until I got the visual I liked, and then trimmed off what wasn't going to show.

I glued everything in place and added all the details........

I used Liquid Pearls in gold and pearl to highlight her jewelry and to make her crown really pop, I put a few Swarovski flat back crystals in the centerpiece. Now she really has a great 'jewel' in there!

I added Liquid Pearl details and some Dresden trim to the phrase and the curly top piece. Which, by the way, is a portion of one of the frames from the Filigree Frames Shape Set. I use bits and pieces from these all the time to add pretty details to my pieces.

This piece is pretty straight forward to make and it's fun. Hope you make one yourself!

Friends Heart Tray by Pam Bray

Hi! Pam here today on the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Blog! I created a beautiful "Friends Heart Tray" to give to a friend. The Mini Display Tray Heart along with some pretty paper makes a wonderful gift anytime of the year to give to someone special. 

Begin by applying Boss Gloss or VersaMark to the top of the Mini Display Tray Heart; sprinkle with embossing powder. Heat set with embossing gun.

Adhere pattern paper to inside of Mini Display Tray Heart. Adhere Doilies to inside of Mini Display Tray Heart and to outside of heart. Glue embossed tray heart to top of prepared base heart. 

Fussy cut flowers, sentiment and butterflies from pattern paper. Adhere to inside and top of Mini Display Tray Heart along with metal lock and key. 

Add fussy cut pieces to top with pop dots. Make bow and add to Mini Display Tray Heart.

Finish by adding a "Friend" sentiment from pattern paper to finish your "Friends Heart Tray". I hope you have enjoyed my special heart project and look at all the fabulous chipboard pieces available in the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Store. Pam
