Dressing up a tag . . .

Hi Everyone. Nancy here with you today, dressing up a tag

with one of the gorgeous frames from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

The tags I used are the GSL Cuts XLarge Tags

along with this beautiful Lace Frame.

Wanting a bit of drama I first painted the tag black.
While that was drying,
I painted the tag off-white.
Both were painted with acrylic paints.

It was still a little too white
as I wanted it to look like an antique doily.
Spraying with Pumice Stone Distress Stain helped.

followed by Anthology Warm spray

followed by splattering with Distress Vintage Photo.

TIP: Save those empty reinker bottles.
Add a tiny bit of water and it will yield
good splattering ink.

Here's what I have so far.

I still wasn't happy and thought it needed something else,
so I pounced some white acrylic on top of the lace frame.
That did it for me.

Now it was time to turn my attention to the tag.
Using Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Stencil Script (D120J)
and
Wendy Vecchi's Gold Embossing Paste
I applied the stencil/paste to only the left side of the tag.

Wanting more glam, I used a cheap glue stick
and some Prima gold foil to place around the edges of the tag.

TIP: A cheap glue stick from the dollar store works best for this!
Rub glue where you want the foil to stick.
Press the foil onto the glue
(shiny side up)
It's that easy!

I added crazing to the frame using
Distress Stickles and once dried,
topped with a bit of Distress Ink.

Time to put it all together.
Adding more bling doesn't ever hurt anyone!
