Hey there Paper Peeps! Lucky me today is my day to share the project I created specially for the matchup Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts is doing with Canvas Corp Brands.  Thank you Canvas Corp for the lovely selection of paper pretties to play with!

I was inspired by the image from the 7 gypsies Architectures Collection Ornate Frames.

To better coordinate with the flowers I colored over some of the clothing on this pretty vintage lady.

I really loved the texture from the torn out sheet from the Spiral Book so I made sure to leave a good long run of it on the side.

Matching flowers create a nice arrangement here with netting tucked in and topped off with pearly headed stick pins.

More flowers for the top. Dangling keys is a metallic finish to compliment her outfit.

This gorgeous frame is a bit of a nod to shabby chic....and helps to brighten this composition. Real vintage buttons are required here as new buttons would not have the right patina and character .

The inspiration sentiment was clipped from the packaging and the background is packaging too!

 These chippies were wiped down to prepare them for altering.

They are finished in flat white paint. The frame is now done and ready to add to my project.

The keys got a layer of antique gold embossing powder and heat set with the tool very close to get a slightly bubbly effect.

Rare Oddities 31 Wall Hanging by Pam Bray

Happy Saturday Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Fans!!! Pam here today on the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Blog sharing my Rare Oddities 31 Wall Art using some amazing GSLaser Cuts Chippies!!!

Begin by first paint the 31 Wall Art with black paint; dry.

Apply Weathered Wood to top of 31 Wall Art; dry and then paint with gesso.

Paint the 31 Wall Art bats from the Creepy Critters Set and Creepy Sign Post with a wash of paint; dry. Shade with paint. Add detail lines with pen.

Adhere pattern paper to top of 9" x 12" chipboard. Adhere pattern paper behind the Brick Wall Medium Sheet; adhere to top of prepared chipboard.

Adhere paint 31 Wall Art to top of prepared chipboard along with plastic spider.

Adhere Creepy Sign Post to top of prepared 31 Wall Art.

Fussy cut image from pattern paper; adhere to top of 31 Wall Art. Die cut flowers, form and add to 31 Wall Art. Adhere bats from the Creepy Critters Set.

Add wire and ribbon to top of 31 Wall Art  for hanger.

Hello, Jennalee here today!! I have been seeing faux rust projects everywhere. The wheels started turning and inspiration struck. This set of Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts wings were the perfect piece to "rust" up. If you haven't figured it out yet I love keys and locks. The engraved keys (coming soon) are full of detail and so beautiful.

Begin by painting wings both front and back with Raw Umber. Allow the first layer to dry. Once dry apply a second layer of Raw Umber. While paint is still wet apply ground cinnamon to wing. Once the second layer was dry I sprayed my wings with hairspray to hold on the cinnamon layer. 

Once the wings are dry add some touches of gold Metallique wax. Emboss lock and key with Burnt Copper Leaves and highlight with gold Metallique wax. The details on the lock and key really pop once embossed. 

Cut out a primitive dress shape and stamp with Distress Oxide in Vintage Photo. I sprayed the dress with a mix of instant coffee. The combination of coffee and Distress Oxides provides the perfect mixture for a vintage look. Messy stitch around dress. 

Layer the engraved lock on top of a coffee stained crocheted medallion. Apply the layered piece to dress. 

Apply wings to back of dress using strong hold double sided tape or hot glue. 

Attach engraved key with a couple stitches using thick floss and needle.

Fall Rake Banner

Hello Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts peeps! Cherry here today.

Fall is right around the corner.  I am starting to get in the mood for the changing season.

I thought this adorable Fall Banner Kit was just the ticket to kick start Autumn.

I started with painting the chipboard pieces and adding paper underneath the top layer. 

 I than added a beaded border at the top of each piece (coming soon to store). From there I wound the banner with ribbon and started adding my chipboard leaves and embellishments.

 Here it is finished!

Flea Market Finds with GSL & Canvas Corp!

Hi crafty friends!  Throughout September Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts and Canvas Corp/7 Gypsies are doing a product matchup.  Fun!

For my project, I took a stroll down memory lane to a fantastic birthday weekend and flea market bonanza I spent with my GSL teamie *and* big sister Lora Mahaffey.  We're daaaangerous together.  ::nod nod::

To start, I wasn't sure what to do with the pack I received.  The big blue car was calling to me, though, and reminded me of the blue truck my sister and I loved at the flea market.  Off I went!

I was inspired by the brick wall in the 7 Gypsies Architextures Warehouse pack, but I wanted to make  a big wall on canvas board.   I used the GSL Brick Wall 2 stencil that I previously sprayed with Krylon matte finish.

Next I used Golden Light Molding Paste and a spatula to create the wall.  This molding paste is super light when dry and didn't add much of any weight to the original canvas.

To prevent stencil slippage, put a few small pieces of drafting tape (or masking tape that has been dabbed with corn starch to make it less sticky) around the back.

Apply the molding paste with a spatula or other straight edge.  Keep an eye on crevices -- you might need to go back and forth over an area for full coverage.

When fully covered, pull the stencil off and gently run your finger along the edges to clean them up a bit.  Allow to dry completely.

Stencil cleanup:  Since this is chipboard, I allowed the little bits of leftover molding paste to dry, and then flicked them off with a paintbrush.  With proper care of the stencil, I'm sure I'll be able to use it multiple times.

Here is the dried wall, ready for a coating of gesso or other paint.  I used Golden Titanium white as my base layer.

There's a lot of paint layers on this finished brick wall.  With respect to Michael deMeng, I can't give a tutorial, but if you're interested please look him up.

Now that my base is created, I started on the elements.  This is CanvasCorp's canvas and the 7 Gypsies Architextures Parchment Rub-Ons.  I received the "Build" set and cut this section off to use as transfer paper onto the canvas.  I painted the canvas with Ranger Glue 'n Seal, then carefully laid out the parchment.  I used a brayer (wow, that tool needs to be cleaned!) to flatten the parchment down.  I carefully pulled it and set the canvas aside to dry. 

I used an architectural element from GSL in the form of a Tudor Rose Singles medallion.  This comes as a package of three in graduated sizes.

I used a mixture of three different embossing powder colors - black with two browns.  I mixed them in an extra container and saved the rest for future use.

Close up, you can see random texture from the larger Distress powder embedded in the finer powder; almost like rust!

From the Canvas Corp/7 Gypsies Architextures "Junk'n" paper, I cut out the blue truck, the sign pole, and two warehouse windows.  You might be able to see that I whitewashed the sign pole and layered some of the sale signs.  The whitewashing caused the paper to curl so I used chipboard scraps across the back to give it more structure.  To finish, I added Stickles Picket Fence glitter glue.

Next to and on top of the car are Architextures thick "Crates" and "Weathered Metal Rooster" stickers.  Since I wanted the rooster to stand off the wall, I dabbed the sticky back with corn starch until it wasn't sticky, then used foam glue dots to adhere.

Since I was working with a Small World theme as well as flea market, you can see a small hoard of "smalls", or precious wee things I found on our birthday and flea market weekend.
