Create the Dream

Hello all you lovely crafters there. Shanna here with a different type of project. I think it is a first so be kind. I love it, but I am worried it might be too busy!

My original plan was to create a glittery background however that changed. So I decided to glitter the chipboard.

I used some glossy accents first to create some dimension with the glitter.

Then I combined some shades of glitter which helped add some awesome sparkle.

I layered random pieces of paper and added the phrase and embellished with flowers. I am thinking the flowers might be a bit much but I love it regardless.

Thanks so much or stopping by today. Remember to come back daily for more inspiration!

Birdhouse Flower Pot

I have been really wanting to make some desk art. I have these cute little terra cotta containers and went for it.

I gave my bird houses a coat of gesso first so the color I painted them would be true.

While my birdhouses were drying I painted the pot with some ColourArte Silks Paint Guatemalan Green. I painted these with some ColourArte paints.

I used a styrofoam ball not he inside and added my birdhouses. I used the trimmed chipboard to mount on the back of the sticks so that they would be a little bit more firm so they could stick into the styrofoam.

Then I covered the ball with moss. I decided to add some eggs covered with paint and Stickles. It turned out perfect. I had to gussy up the birdhouses a little more. I added some vintage photo distress Stickles not he bottom of the birdhouses, and I topped the birdhouses off with some liquid pearls on the top.

I had such a blast making this. Hope you come back for more inspiration!

Eyeglass Retro Tags from Shanna

Hello to you all. Shanna here with a little weekend inspiration for you.

I got some new paints to play with my new chipboard pieces.

Let me know what you think!

I first gave my tags a layer of gesso then went over with some gelatos.

For this tag I rubbed over a stencil with a baby wipe. I used Dylusions paint to cover the retro fragment and then Teal Zicron and Mediterranean Blue ColourArte h20's on the eyeglasses.

Then this tag I used a different color of Dylusions paint with a stencil and another color on my frgament piece. I used Dreams Bloom and Playful Peony on the eyeglasses.

I finished both tags off with seam binding and some Tim Holtz phrases.

Bulletin Box Altered by Shanna

Hey everyone Shanna here with a new piece I played with.

When I got this I wasn't sure about how I would use it or what I would do with it. To be honest I wasn't sure about a lot but I wanted to play with something different and have fun.

Well I want more of these Bulletin Boxes now.

I covered the box with some Prima papers and coordinating flowers before I got to adding my lovely chippies.

I used the base of the dovetail banner builder pieces because I really didn't want to use up all my cute little banner pieces.

I altered the clock hand from the Steampunk 2 Shape Set with Distress Paints.

I altered this gear from he Gears Shape Set to look old and rustic using acrylic paint.

The steampunk dress form was altered with Distress Paints as well to look old and patina like.

So grab a box and give it a try.

Doily Box from Shanna Featuring ColourArte

Good day and happy weekend to you all. It is my turn to share more yummy inspiration for you all.

Today I have to share the Doily Box with the baby theme. So if you want to make something for yourself or for a friend that wants to celebrate babies, this is for you.

I used Graphic 45 Papers and ColourArte products to alter it.

Here I used some crackle accents on the horse to give it some fun texture.

I added some distress glitter for some shine as well as glossy accents on the baby pin.

I gave the duck dimension popping him up with cardboard.

Can you see the iridescent color of the paint?

I had so much fun altering this piece. I hope you grab one and give it a go. Don't forget to check out all the great products at ColourArte!

Inky Cards by Shanna

Hey everyone Shanna here and it is my turn to share more lovely inspiration with you all again.

This month we are having this awesome swap with ColourArte and I got some yummy colors to play with. So here are two cards I created using my goodies along with some new chipboard pieces.

First card I went with more of an orange look.

The second card I wanted more pop with the teal.

For the base of my cards, I used the H20 colors Mandarin Citrine, Orange Peel, and Ginger Peach.

I laid some base color and then spritzed it with water to make the color spread.

After heat setting, I got this gorgeous watercolor with magnificent shimmer.

I used the Silks on my chipboard (of course the chipboard had a coat of gesso first).

I used Lemondrop for the base on the Tudor Rose before going in with some of the Ginger Peach. I used a heat gun with these and if you use more paint and heat set it creates great bubbles.

Scribbled Frame Layout

Big hello to all of you in blog-land.

Shanna here with a layout I created with some new colors in my stash.

I played with the Butterfly Scribbled Frame. I colored it with my black Gelato and then after using some embossing ink and Black Soot Distress Embossing Powder.

I love the pop of the black on the chipboard.

I used flowers, stamps, and embossing paste to help embellish the rest of the layout.

I love the dimension of the embossing paste and the looks of the embossing powder on the chipboard. Texture is just amazing isn't it?

Altered Picture Frame

Hello everyone. Shanna here with an altered creation to share. Have you seen those cheap awesome wood frames in the crafty stores? They are just sitting there waiting to be picked up and altered.

I thought the Sweet Summer Shape Set would be perfect for altering this frame. Great for summer memories.

Everything first got a coat of gesso. Then everything got some color using gelatos. The word SWEET was covered with Glossy Accents and glitter.

While that was drying, I used a stencil and some modeling paste to cover parts of the frame.

Then I adhered my chipboard pieces on to the frame.

Floral Tags

Hello everyone. Shanna here to share with you some tags I created for Gina's Designs Lasercuts.

I altered 2 plain #8 Manilla tags with some fun mediums and awesome chippies.

First I started with some Distress Paint spritzed with water to alter the tag and heat set it.

Then I went in with a metallic gelato and more water.

I also created my own mist using the Color Lab Kit. I heat set the spray I spritzed too.

I forgot to snap a shot of the stamps I embossed on the tags before adding my altered chippies.

I sprayed them with 3 different shades of blue using Prima Bloom Sprays.

Then lastly, I added some clear glass glitter with soft matte gel.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Please keep coming back to check out more inspiration!
