Gorgeous frame

Hi everyone, Heather here making a rare appearance on the blog.
Gypsy Soul Laser cuts have got loads of beautiful frames in stock and this one the 6" deco frame is one of my favourites,

As you can see it comes in 3 parts, so depending on whether you want a lovely decorative frame or just a very plane frame you can use any part of this frame, or, of course you can use all 3 parts together because they fit perfectly inside each other.
Because I wanted the frames to look a bit coppery I didn't worry about gessoing them as they are brown already,but if  you want a light coloured frame you would have to either Gesso or paint the frame in white before you put colour on it. I used creative expressions gilding polish and glitter kiss to colour the frames,

 basically I used Fire red kiss, Sahara gold kiss,rich red gilding polish, gold treasure gilding polish,a tiny bit of coral distress ink and just applied them to the frames until I had got a colour that I liked.

 When I was happy with the colour I had a quick flip through my very small selection of bird pictures

and found this lovely little bird that fitted nicely into the smallest part of the frame,

so there we go, my favourite frame and a gorgeous little garden bird that I think is called a coal tit in the Uk, but don't quote me on that one. I hope that you have got some lovely photos that need framing and that you will have  a look at the great selection on gypsy Soul Laser Cuts

Sand on the Seashore Shadow Box by Ginny

Hey there Paper Peeps! Ginny here with an extra special project I created as a gift for my Daughter in Law for her Birthday. The story behind this project is our first vacation we took all together after she joined our family. We went on holiday to the beach as we do for Christmas and had a wonderful time. She and I happened into a craft store and she found a little package of glass bottles and mentioned how much she liked them. A light bulb went off and I decided right then and there to create a shadowbox for her and include a tiny bottle filled with sand from the beach from our first family trip.

I altered many chippies to embellish a recycled candy box to create the shadow box.

 



There's the little jar of sand. I wrapped a bit of twine around it and added some tiny key charms.

 

A vintage jewelry finding was layered onto the altered chipboard for accent.

 



Loads of flowers to coordinate with the beachy color scheme and to disguise the structure holding the tiny sand jar. There's a printed bible verse in the frame with a lovely sentiment to let her know how much we love her.

I created faux netting by spraying cheese cloth then twisting it in and around the flowers and inside the box.  A few little loops of roping completes the nautical embellishing.

1. Wipe down the chippies to prepare them to be altered. 2. The base is finished with a layer of flat white acrylic paint and the flourish pieces are dabbed with Distress Paint in Peacock Feathers. 3. I'm incorporating the portion of the chippies that would usually be discarded to create the front opening of the box. It's been finished with the Distress Paint  and the snipped Deco Frame pieces are also. Using 3D Matt I adhered the flourish pieces to the frame base and allowed it to set. 4. The Deco Frame pieces are added to the box front and ready to attach to the candy box. I filled in the frame with Sugar Glitter Paste then sprinkled in 3D Powder and Micro Beads. This took quite a while to dry but well worth it!

A generous coat of Glitter Paste tops off the frame. I decided to grunge up the sides just a bit too which you can see in the finished pictures : )

Romantic Card by Sandy Trefger

Hi everyone! Sandy here with my second project this month for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.  I know that Valentine's Day is over for this year but I was still in the mood for one more romantic card.  This one could be easily used for any occasion as I left it blank with no sentiment.  This is a much larger (6"x6") and thicker card than I normally create but I do love some pretty flowers and elements now and then.  Of course, it makes it near impossible to mail a card like this but then there are times when one does hand deliver for a special occasion.

Despite all of it's details, this card is really quick and easy to create.  I've written up a Snapguide Tutorial with photos for you.

Botanicabella Staggered Mini Album by Barbara

Hi everyone!  Barbara here today, and if you are ready for Fall, I have a fun Staggered Mini Album for you to help celebrate the coming of the Season.  Even here in the Mid-South, there is a crispness in the air in the evening, and I am loving it.

To begin, I am using Graphic 45's Botanicabella paper collection.  I am so glad they resurrected this beautiful paper line. It is perfect for this time of year, and I love all of the elements, as well.  So, cut out your papers and adhere them to each page of the Staggered Mini Album.  This album is super easy to cover because of its straight lines.

To decorate the front cover using the 4" square chipboard piece, I discovered that the Deco Frames 6 Inch and the Tudor Rose Singles would work perfectly.

Paint Deco Frames 6 Inch with two colors of paint using a sponge and dabbing motion to provide the mottled effect.   Paint both sides of the frame since they will show when the book is opened.  Distress the edge with a brown distress ink.  Paint the Tudor Rose Singles with black paint.

Paint a single gear from the Gears Shape Set with a rust paint, dabbing a tiny bit of black to give a mottled effect.

Glue frame edges to the 4" square chipboard piece.

Turn the Tudor Rose over and glue the gear to the center back.  (TIP:  Put the glue on the back of the Tudor Rose and not on the gear.)

Add foam dots to the center (gear) of the Tudor Rose and adhere to center of 4" square chipboard piece.

Use a ruler to mark about 1" from the right side of the 4" chipboard piece and place white glue inside this area.

Flip the narrow chipboard piece over and align the strip along the pencil line.  This is now your front cover of the mini album.

I wanted to add some pockets to the pages, so I adhered small black pocket style envelopes to the second, third and fourth pages, as shown.  This will allow me to insert tags or bits of ephemera for safe keeping.

To finish off the cover, I added floral embellishments.  I decided to add this butterfly to the focal point since butterflies were prevalent in the paper.  I colored the butterfly with green chalk paint, then added copper metallic paint along the outer edge.  Lastly, I added a thin edging of black paint.  (See finished photo above for placement).

I fussy cut lots of images from the print papers to use throughout the book.  For the next page, I painted one of the chevron words with black paint and adhered a piece of print paper beneath it.  

I cut apart two strips from the Texture Sheet Diamonds, painted them black, and adhered them to the next page, as shown.  I cut apart a few of the leaves from Skeleton Leaves 2, painted with green paint, and adhered over the diamond texture.  

I added a couple more of the skeleton leaves on this page, as well.

I painted a Border Sticks Shell strip with black paint and adhered it along the edge, as shown.  It really adds some beautiful detail to the page.  Oh yes, I had a few more skeleton leaves left to add to the floral spray on this page.

To finish off the back cover, I painted the large Tulip Scroll Corners and adhered it to the left edge.

Nutcracker Sweet Composition Box by Pam Bray

Hi Pam here today on the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Blog! Are you ready to start thinking about Christmas decorations or maybe a fun gift idea. It is never to early to get started...

I created a dimensional fun cabinet for the holidays using Composition Box - 25 and Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet Designer Paper. 

Begin by first putting the Composition Box - 25 together. Paint with black paint. Dry completely.

Apply a generous coat of Crackle Paint to all pieces of the Composition Box - 25. Dry.

 Paint the inside and boxes of Composition Box - 25 with paint. Dry. Add pattern paper to sides of Composition Box - 25.

Emboss Deco Frame 6 Inch Set with embossing powder and Boss Gloss. Cut bottom piece off; it will be used for one of the boxes.

Add designer paper behind Deco Frame 6 Inch Set. Add to back of Composition Box - 25.

Emboss Snowflake Shape Set with embossing powder and Boss Gloss. Add to sides of Composition Box - 25 along with brads and circle punched pieces from the designer paper.

Add fussy cut images from designer paper, add to sides with pop dots.

Repeat again for the other side of Composition Box - 25.

Add legs to Composition Box - 25 .

Decorate each of the small boxes that come with the Composition Box - 25 using metals and miniatures along with small images from the designer paper. Add to inside of box.

Add bottom part of prepared Deco Frame 6 Inch Set that you cut off to box.

Fussy cut image from designer paper. Add to inside of box along with floral pieces and miniature. Add to inside of box.

Spray small tree with mist, dry. Decorate with berry and pine cone floral stems.

Add to bottom shelf that was decorated with designer paper.

Add fussy cut images from designer paper along with miniatures.

Fussy cut nutcracker from designer paper; add to front of prepared Composition Box - 25.

Add a few more layers of images that has been fussy cut from the designer paper to the top of Composition Box - 25.

Along with a fun banner that is floating from the top and prepared Snowflakes.

Add a pretty ribbon, floral pine cone pick and berries along with a few miniatures to complete the top.

Emboss Art Deco Corner Set with embossing powder and Boss Gloss. Add to to the front of prepared box along with a fussy cut image.
