Holy Family Shrines-A Peek-a-Boo Project

I Love Images of the Holy Family, I especially like when I can find Images of Jesus and Joseph, they seem rarer than those of Jesus and Mary or the family of three.

They are the inspiration for this artwork. 

1. Gather Supplies.
   
2. Glue Printed Images to GSLC Arch Top House Silhouettes with a UHU GlueStick.
   
3. Once Fully Dry Use Damp Cloth to Rub Of Excess Edges of Printed Images.
   

   
4. Add Bits of Ripped Magazine Images and Tea Bags to portions of the GSLC Arch Top House Silhouettes.
   
5. Use Matte Gel Medium to to Secure Ripped Magazine Images and Tea Bags.
   
6. Once Dry Randomly Wrap Pieces with Thin Metallic Thread. I Used Red, Blue and Copper.
   
7. Secure Metallic Thread to Back of GSLC Arch Top House Silhouettes.
   
8. Use a Small Plastic Palette Knife to Add a Layer of Deco Art One Step Crackle.
   
9. Allow to Dry Fully Rub Colored Pencils to Fill in the Cracks.
   
10. Reseal With Matte Gel Medium.
    
11. Add Iridescent Copper Paint to Edges of GSLC Arch Top House Silhouettes.

Trilogy Triptych-A Peek-a-Boo Project

This is Jon David Lowe for  Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts, Growing up Baptist I was often confounded by the Trilogy-the three in one-Father, Son and Holy Spirit-I never could understand how one entity could be three different manifestations.  I can understand a person having different ways of acting in various situations. In the end for me it did not really matter, but I have always loved triptychs when I saw them in museums. I also find that many wonderful things come in threes, they are the inspirations for this artwork.

1.  Gather Materials.

2.  Resize Images of Your Liking and Print.

3.  Use Art Folk Design Creme-Gold, TCW-Stencil Butter-Turquoise and Black Embossing Paste and a Paintbrush To Paint Top Portion of GSLC Arabian Triptych Frame.

4.  Use a Pen and Back Portion of GSLC Arabian Triptych Frame to Trace the Portion of the Printed Images.

5.  Cut Out Images.

6.  Use a UHU Gluestick to Glue Images to Back Portion of GSLC Arabian Triptych Frame.

7.  Use Weldbond to Glue Top Portion of GSLC Arabian Triptych Frame to Back Portion.

8.  Press Weighted and Flattened Down.

9.  When Fully Dry add Ranger Glossy Accents , When Dry it Will Appear as Glass.

10.                Use Double Sided Tape and a Length of Recycled Silk Sari Ribbon to Connect Triptych Together.

Some Final Thoughts.

As stated wonderful  things come in threes. The Primary Colors-Red, Yellow, and Blue-Three Ring Circus-Three Little Pigs-the Three Stooges-Three French Hens-The Billy Goats Gruff-Three Sheet to the Wind-Three Piece Suits-Tricycles- Big Wheels-The Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria-Three Blind Mice-3-D-On your Mark, Get Set, Go-Of the People, By the People, For the People-Up, Up and Away- Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil, see no Evil-Strongest Geometric Shape-Harry, Hermione, and Ron-the Rule of Three-Rock, Paper, Scissors-BLT-Shamrocks...Can you think of any others?

What would Christmas be without the Three Wisemen sometimes called Kings.

Yuletide Yearnings-A Peek-a-Boo Project

I love collecting vintage, found family photos or creepy clan cousin curiosities, they are not my relations but I adopt them when I find them especially if I am intrigued by some part of the photograph. Christmas time is a time of family gathering and remembering. These are the inspirations for this artwork.

1.  Gather Supplies.

2.  Adopt Your Found Family Photos or Creepy Clan Cousin Curiosities and Make Copies of Them.

3.  To Give a Further Vintage Look Spray with Water, Rubbing Alcohol and Hairspray do a Quick Dry With Heat Tool.

4.   Paint Frame Part of Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts-Triptych Arch Top Randomly with Golden Acrylic Paint-Quinacridone

Magenta and Jenkins Green.

5.  Paint Back Part of Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts-Triptych Arch Top Randomly with Metallique Wax-Aged Brass and Vintage Gold.

6.  Fill in Frame Part of Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts-Triptych Arch Top With Tim Holtz Distress Stain Abandoned Coral.

7.   Prepare Your Found Family Photos or Creepy Clan Cousin Curiosities and Glue to Back Part of Frame with UHU Gluestick.

8.  Paint Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts-Art Deco Corner Set, Randomly with Golden Acrylic Paint-Quinacridone

Magenta and Jenkins Green.

9.   Attach GSLC Art Deco Corner to Back of Top of GSLC Arch Frame.

10.                Add a Border of Washi Tape to Top of Photo Copies.

11.                Put a Thin Coat of One Step Crackle Finish Over Entire Prepared Back Frame Portion. Dry Overnight.

12.                Use Colored Pencils to Fill in Cracks. Seal With Matte Varnish.

13.                Paint GSLC Ginkgo leaves with  Scorching Yellow and Radiant Yellow Neon Paint and Golden Nickel Azo Yellow Paint.

14.                Paint Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts-Catweed Shape Set with Golden Chromium Oxide Green, Permanent Green Light, Verde Neon Paint, and ColorShift Green Flash Paint.

15.                Glue Front Frame to Back Part of Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts-Triptych Arch Top and Hold in Place With Clips.

16.                Use Leaf Punch to Cut Out Branches from Colorful Cardstock.

17.                Use Heavy Gel Matte Medium to Assemble Floral Embellishments, Pressing Into Place with Clips.

18.                Use Rust Texture Paste and Spices to add Patina and Tie Together Overall  Assemblage.

19.                Use Cloth Tape to Connect Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts-Triptych Arch Top Frames Together, Cover Back with Decorative Paper if You are Keeping Triptych as One. I'll be Using Them as Separate Book Panels.
