Gypsy Journal with Gypsy Soul and 7Gypsies/Canvas Corp

Hey there crafty friends! I'm excited at the chance to combine goodies from two great companies to put together a fun project; as soon as I saw the 5x7 Naked Journal, I knew I wanted to work with it! I just happened to have some older 7Gypsies paper in my stash that worked great with the newer line, and I put it all together to create what I have called my "Gypsy Journal":

I used the burlap for the cover; I just love the natural, earthy feel and texture of burlap and thought it would create a great backdrop for the Botanical journalling block from GSLC and the other pieces I used.
I painted the journalling block gold, then brushed it with crackle finish; when that was dry I finished it with black acrylic paint and then ran jute through the holes along the edge.

On this page, the chipboard pieces were painted black, then heat embossed in clear before being treated with Dusty Attic Rust Paste and Prima Aged Brass Wax. I used crumpled pieces of a sewing pattern and some similar-coloured burlap as added embellishments.

For this page, the image from the paper takes center stage, but I added a music note which was heat-embossed first with Ranger Antiquities California Stucco, then Lindy's Adobe Fire. A tulle skirt and gemstone "sun" add some extra dimension.

This page features quotes from both the Wanderlust and Gypsy Moments collections-I love how well they work together! I covered the chipboard balloon in patterned paper, then sanded and inked the edges; the horseshoe was heat embossed with Stampendous Aged Copper embossing powder. The feather is real; I found it on the ground at work the other day!(I work at a golf course)

I started this page with an Architextures background, then used the Architextures baskets sticker and an image & quote from the Gypsy Moments paper as the focal points here. I then added the baggage ticket from the Wanderlust paper and the lasercut propeller and hasp. Both pieces were painted black, then rubbed with silver ink. It doesn't take much to alter your chipboard pieces to match any page theme or colour scheme; that's something I love about them!

The chipboard doodles here were painted black then heat-embossed with Lindy's Midnight Gold.

I absolutely loved this image from the Wanderlust paper but had a bit of a freakout when I realized I also loved something from the other side of the paper...(the struggle is real....sigh....) so I used the upper part of the image  and saved the rest for the following page! I thought these celestial pieces were perfect accompaniments to this image; the moon was dry-embossed with this Darice stencil, then painted antique white and brushed with Perfect Pearls. The stars were painted burgundy then brushed with Perfect Pearls as well.I dabbed a tiny bit of water onto my brush to make a paste with the powders.

I loved the door image along with the Milton Berle quote, so created a 2-page spread here. The Architextures wheel sticker was lightly brushed with Aged Brass wax, which I also used on the GSLC lock. The Parchment rub ons are fabulous; they go on so easily and are full of great images and quotes! By the way, I used packaging from the journal on this page-it's the beige patterned rectangle in the middle!

There are six pages left in the journal, and I plan to add quotes, images and embellishments I find that speak to me of the "free my gypsy spirit" theme. Best of Luck Card and Candy House by Pam Bray

Hi all our Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts fans!!! Welcome to the first Saturday of March. I hope to inspire you with a fun "Best of Luck" Card and a Cabana Candy House using some of Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts which include the Tudor Rose Singles, Feeling Lucky Charms Set and Cabana Row Houses.

I began my "Best of Luck" Card by first adhering pattern paper to the front of a square card base.

Emboss the one of  Tudor Rose Singles and a couple of the charms from the Feeling Lucky Charms Set using two shades of embossing powder and Boss Gloss.

Repeat using the Rust embossing powder.

Adhere to the front of the card base.

Add a journal block from the Place in Time Collection along with a couple of the sentiments.

Make a bow from green ribbon and twine.

Fussy cut a couple of the stamps from the Place in Time pattern paper. Layer together with pop dots. Add to front of card with pop dots.

Add to the front of card with one of the prepared Feeling Lucky Charms.

Cover one to the Cabana Row Houses with pattern paper.

Decorate the front of the Cabana House with a journal piece from the Place in Time pattern paper and a prepared charm from the Feeling Lucky Charms Set.

Add  some ribbon and paper borders to the roof and around the bottom of the Cabana House.

Add a tag from the Place in Time pattern paper along a chipboard tag.

Make a bow from ribbon and twine and add to the top of the roof. Thanks for stopping by today. Hugs Pam

Holiday Cards

Top o' the morning to you all.  Barbara here.  Since today is St. Patty's Day, I thought I would make a couple of cards, but the first one is to wish you all a Happy St. Patrick's Day!  And since Easter is next week, I made an Easter card to wish you a Happy Easter!

So let's start with the St. Patrick's Day card. 

I cut a piece of green card stock to make a folded 5"x7" card base.  I next cut a piece of green print paper to 4-1/2" x 6".  This leaves some card showing at the top, so I trimmed the print border and added it at the top of the card.

Cut decorative tags and layer onto purple print paper cut slightly smaller.  Adhere to card, as shown.

I chose these GSL chipboard pieces to use for my card.  (TIP:  I like to lay them out and see just how many I might need and how they will look.)  

I used chalk ink pads, direct to chipboard, to color my chipboard pieces.  The shamrocks were colored with two greens and then highlighted with the gold ink pad.  The wishbone charm was colored with the white and bisque chalk ink pad, while the mini bookplate was colored with the wisteria ink pad.  For the horseshoe, I used the silver and black ink pads.  

I adhered the chipboard pieces to my card front, as shown.  Lastly, I tied a bow and attached the wishbone charm to the bow with a vintage safety pin.

Now, for the Easter card, I was going for a more shabby chic look.  I made an A2 (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") size card from purple card stock.  I found this pretty laser cut white paper in my stash and adhered that, along with the purple decorative paper cut to fit in the space.

Once again, I selected my chipboard pieces that I thought would work, and I laid them out to see how I wanted to place them on the card.

I mixed the chalk paints on my craft sheet and applied two or more colors to each piece, withe the exception of the "Happy Easter" piece, which was computer generated onto a piece of purple paper and adhered to the label center.

Each piece was adhered to the card front, as shown.  A pretty lavender bow as tied and adhered at the bottom of the eggs.  One last tiny sentiment from the decorative paper was adhered beneath the eggs for balance.

Planner Charms from Shanna

Hello to all you lovelies. Shanna here and I recently decided to acquire one of those nice planners. I have noticed charms for planners were a great idea. So I pulled out some of my favorite chipboard pieces and gave it a go. 

 As you can see I painted them to sort of match the planner and give them a rusty look. However wait until you see the fronts.

I also had so much fun turning these new charms into pieces I can latch on my my planners (I actually have 2 nice ones now). 

Each got painted with some Distress paint and some treated with Crackle Accents. 

Now for the main event, I couldn't help but play with my Ice Resin and glitter to put some motivation to see daily. 

Here you can see the pop of the white paint and the sparkle of the glitter. 

I am however not happy that my black glitter didn't pop like my gold glitter. So WARNING don't use black glitter!

Loving my steampunk theme though I used some rusty teal gears and a boat propeller!
