D153A Art Journal

Perfect mixed media journal from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. Great for trying new techniques.  Accepts 5 inch by 7 inch pages.  Kit includes 2 Covers, 4 Tabbed Dividers, 2 Tab Top Page Markers, 4 chipboard pages, 4 corrugated pages and 2 binder ring.  Precision laser cut from .050 chipboard, .030 chipboard and corrugated cardboard.

The front cover was "fussy cut" from the title page of the 12x12 paper pad.

There were four corrugated pages in the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts package. I mounted the chipboard piece from the paper pack using Stampin' Up Dimensionals, dabbed liquid glue (Art Glitter) on the corrugated paper, and then sprinkled white Flower Soft over the page.  I set it aside to dry. (Flower Soft  -  colored card fibers added another dimenson.  Unfortunately it was discontinued.)

The right side pages are decorated with A2 sized cards.

The embellishment is made with a Graphic 45 Policy Envelope, cardstock and a tag from the paper line. All are popped up with SU Dimensionals.  They are decorated with Kaiser Craft red pearls, Queen and Company diamonds and clear Wink of Stella.

The inside of the card has a mat. These cards can be left in the album and used for journaling or pictures, taken out and used as Christmas greeting cards, or the embellishment can be used as a gift card holder. They are all held together with repositionable adhesive (Herma dotto from EK Tools).

         This is the policy envelope.

When I planned my layout, divider tabs just didn't fit, so I trimmed them off.

The gold Flower Soft had a lot more sparkle to it!

Vintage Confidential

Hello this is Yolie with today's project. I used Stained Glass Fergus frame and Leafy Swirls and Buds, both will be coming to the shop soon.

Do you ever purchase a paper collection in duplicates? I sure do! Especially Graphic 45. So in love with G45's Communique designs. I used it on the card I am sharing today.

At the moment I don't have access to all my fun paints so I used an airbrush to "paint" the Stained Glass Fergus frame. I used a Sharpie adapter and airbrushed the frame with black for full coverage. I used a brown Sharpie on the Leafy Swirls with light airbrushing in black.

The flowers were a bit creamy so I took the brown Sharpie and airbrushed them for a more antique look.
Before adhering the paper, I also airbrushed the edges in brown for a vintage vibe.

Everything on the card got airbrushed. Excluding the typist. I wanted her to pop so I masked her off before airbrushing the edges.

I added a bit of jute on the tag and used pop dots to adhere to the frame and finished it off with bronze matte sequins.

Summer Vibes - Altered Mini Box

Greetings, this is Yolie today with today's project. I recently took a road trip to Arizona and New Mexico. I always a take a bag of crafting supplies to create on the road. On this trip I took along Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts' Fold Up Oval Box {coming soon}, Layered Frame Bella Oval and the Words and Phrases 1.

I used Graphic 45 Sun Kissed paper and traced the shadow of the Layered Frame Bella Oval frame. I then  colored the top layer with a blue Sharpie.

I trimmed the different pattern paper to cover all sides of the top lid and bottom.

I used a copper pen to color the word "Inspire" and adhered it all with Beacon Adhesives.

I added a trim of aqua rhinestones strand. I thought of adding some rhinestones around the frame, but I really wanted to focus on the cutie!

Trixie Likes Bees

Hello everyone, Lora here for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.
Beatrix Mellifera likes honeybees.
A lot.
And they like her.
She draws them, studies them, talks to them and generally looks after their well being.
She cultivates their favorite flowers and fusses over them when it gets cold and shoos away naughty insects that might do them harm.
She is a great friend and guardian.
She's a little quirky, but aren't we all?

She has lots of personality and if you ask about bees, she can talk about them for a very long time. And she has great hair...

I began with the Art Doll Nicho (which is coming to the store soon).
I glued down the inside folds of the box and clipped them together until the glue set.
NOTE: the flaps are not glued down, just folded in to help the clips hold the wet gluey bits.

Next, I painted the inside of the box cream and aged up the corners a bit with some brown ink using a Q-tip and cut the papers front and back using the nicho as the template. Notice that when I cut the back paper, I included the circle (head). I did this to give added strength to the piece when I glue the collage sheet face onto the circle.

In the picture above, I glued the box on to the backside of the nicho, painted the side of the box cream and inked it up a bit to give it a little patina. After it dried, I dry fit the paper on to the back, pushing it over the box carefully, adjusting the fit as needed. I carefully removed the paper after I had a good fit, added glue and stuck it down.

I glued Beatrix' head on and then the front papers. I added bits of cotton lace around the nicho opening and gave her a pretty lace collar. I attached the brass bee to a small cork and did the same with some of the sequin flowers, cutting the corks to different heights to give things depth.

I put the flowers and little bits of glitter and sequins in the box before I added the bee. That made it a lot easier to add or subtract detail without having to work around a big object.

 I made a little skirt out of leftover paper and arms and legs for Beatrix from a collage sheet (you can get this or something similar at Alpha Stamps)

 I stuck a command strip on the back of the box to attach her to this pillar. You can do the same thing anywhere in your house.

A little lace, glitter, sequins and a pretty bee....... you can't go wrong!
