ATC Journal

Hi Everyone,
Jess here today to show you this awesome ATC ticket journal that will be coming soon to the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts store.

Start by adding a thin layer of gesso to the journal on the front and the back.  Once it is dry paint with Deco Art Fluid Acrylic Paint in Titan Buff.  Using Distress Collage medium adhere small pieces of Tim Holtz Tissue wrap and Collage paper to each side.  Be sure you cover the entire journal with Collage Medium as it makes it easier to move around your color later.
Once the collage medium is dry add stamps using archival inks.
After you are happy with your base you can add color using Distress Crayons, paint, and gel pens.
Cut a piece of the honeycomb and emboss it. I added bits throughout the journal and just cut the pieces to size as I went.
The crown is colored with a gel pen.

Here the honeycomb and bee are colored using a gel pen.

These little bits are the centers of the comb. They are supposed to be waste, but you can always put those little bits to good use.
To hold the journal together I used a large vintage pin I just purchased at a local junk show.
Here are a few closeups for you too.
Enjoy!

Beautiful Girl Pennant

Hi Everyone,
Jess here today with a canvas art pennant.
Here's how you can make your own.

Start by adhering tissue wrap to a canvas pennant using Pellon EZ Steam II.  Once the tissue is firmly attached trim it to size.
Color your pennant using inks, paints, and crayons.  Emboss the edge in gold.
You can see there is a lot of detail on here.  Lots of inky layers and flicks of paint too.
Paint your mini journaling block with a cream color and let dry.  Add a layer of gesso to your Layered Bella Frame.  Emboss your Medium Fairy
Use Distress Crayons to color your journaling block.
Emboss the back of the Layered Bella Frame and color the front using Distress Crayons.  The finished frame has white gel pen around the edge to look like stitching.
Adhere your frame to the journaling block. Use a bit of foam tape to pop the fairy in the frame.
Glue the whole piece to the pennant.
Add your words and using a Stabilo pencil outline the words a bit.  Add dots with a white gel pen.
Use a Distress Marker to color the edge of vintage seam binding and wet to make color feather and wrinkle the binding.  Run the seam binding through the slot in the pennant and create your hanger.  Add a large fluffy bow made out of the seam binding.
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial!

Special Delivery

Hi Everyone,
Jess here.
Once again I was a bad design team girl and didn't take step out photos.  Here's the thing, these cabana houses are so easy to assemble I just got carried away.  They just fold together.  A tiny bit of glue or double sided tape and they are done in a flash.

I started by using some tissue wrap and crazing collage medium to adhere it to the house.  Once the collage medium was dry I used Distress Crayons and Scribble Sticks to add color.
I love making my tissue have wrinkles.  I smush and scrunch it until I have enough wrinkles.

The roof was stamped and then colored using Distress Oxide inks.
The roof edges and the bottom of the house have some washi tape.

The little postman, a bingo house number, some verbiage, and my teeny house is done.
The cabana houses come in a set of 5! Such an awesome deal.
