Thank you so much for stopping over today.  I have a fun project for those of you that love to paint things and do a little stamping.  I made this to remember my mom by when she passed away.  Sometimes it's nice to use all the gorgeous frames that we have in the GSLC shop to create projects to put up in our houses to decorate.  And today this is mine ....

1. To make this you will need to buy a wooden stand and sand it and seal it with clear.  Paint the stand blue and let it dry.  Then set it aside.

2. Then use a white or light ivory paint and paint the front and back of the frame that you chose to use.  I used the "Flourished Frame Marie" for mine.  I love all the pretty swirls on this one and it fits perfect on the wooden stand. 

3. Cut a circle of white paper a little bit larger than the circle in the frame and stamp your image.  I did mine in black Versafine and then splattered it with a bit of gold on the front when I put it behind the frame.  It gives it a fun glistening effect when you see it up close.

4. Glue all of this to the stand with a hot glue gun and let it cool.  

5. Add lots of flowers to the bottom to create a pretty swag and ribbons too.  I also added a few pearls to the frame to go with a few other GSLC pieces that I have already made.  Now I  have the perfect set for my computer desk.

Oh so simple Christmas card

Hello, Heather here today to bring you a Christmas card that is just so easy to make. I only do "easy"  so even a real beginner can do this card. Here it is finished then I will tell you how to make it.

First I decided what I was going  to use from my Gslcuts items of which there are hundreds, if not thousands.

 

 The picture of the frame and candles are already covered  in Gesso, but they arrive looking  the same as the corner picture, and although the candles come as candlesticks, I only wanted the candles for my card so cut them down. The corner  I left without Gesso because I wanted the end product to look darker.

The paper I used for the background is from an 8" x 8" paper pad of vintage backgrounds by Craftwork cards cut down to 7" x 5".

I began by  covering the frame with Gold treasure Gilding Polish by Creative Expressions.

then I covered the candles with  white distress ink and to make them look as though there was melting wax on them I used platinum pearl Liquid pearls then left those overnight to make sure they were dry.

I then stuck the candles to the bottom of the frame so that one was taller than the others, and cut off the excess bit of candle that showed below the frame. I used a holly and Christmas rose leaf die to cut out the leaves from dark green card and arranged these at the top and bottom of the frame. I added some red flat back pearls to look like berries on the leaves, then cut out one of the circles from the waste background paper, stamped the greeting on it and stuck it onto the middle of the bottom of the frame.

Next I stuck the whole middle section to the  background paper and then onto a card but I decided that it needed something in the corners so instead of just putting a few pearls there I thought that some Gslcuts corners would look good.

I covered these in gathered twigs distress ink , then I covered them with the gold treasure Gilding Polish. By putting the brown distress ink on first it made the Gilding Polish slightly darker than the colour on the frame, which I thought would look better in the corners, but it is your choice really, they can be any colour. Obviously I stuck these to each corner of the card.

And here is the finished product once again. It looks far more complicated than it really is so I hope someone will have a go at making one for, maybe, a special someone.

Harvest Fox Fall Greeting Card

Hey there Peeps!  Well despite the fact that I am not ready to give up on summer yet the nights are getting cooler and the trees are taking on their autumnal hues. I created this card with thoughts of brisk walks in the crisp leaves and hot cider and warm doughnuts.

I chose the frame chippie to give a finished border to the fox image.

 Once I decided to alter the frame with antique gold embossing powder I knew it would be the perfect base for the Fall Harvest sentiment. I pulled the chartreuse color from the beautiful leaves in the image and I think it makes a wonderful accent.

Netting and flowers and ribbon and twine create a generous arrangement and helps to bring the fall colors to the outside edge of the card.

I added more of the flowers to the top being careful not to cover too much of the chipboard frame.

Pearly headed stick pins in a warm pumpkin color and coordinating sequins add the perfect not too flashy finishing touch.

I used the Flourished Frame Marie in an antique gold embossing powder finish and the harvest sentiment from the Fall Shapes Set in a rich chartreuse embossing powder finish and heat set them to create a warm and welcoming accent to this Fall-Thanksgiving Card.

A Trio of Easter Cards

Hello folks!  It's Susan from Killam Creative and this is my first post as a new Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts  education teamie.  I'm thrilled to be part of such a creative group!

Since Easter is right around the corner I decided to make a trio of cards with bunnies and chicks.

As you can see, I've used stunning GSL Cuts frames and a flourish to give the cards wonderful depth and detail.  Let's take a look at each one!

On the first card I wanted to use my current favorite colour combination of green and purple.  The base of the card is purple/plum. The GSL Cuts "Layered Frame Bella Oval" surrounds the adorable bunny.

On the Bella base layer I scribbled the edge with a TH Distress Crayon and used a little water and my finger to smooth it out.  It's the first crayon experiment for me, and I think it turned out well!

I inked the top layer of the Bella Oval with TH Ground Espresso and a sponge and glued the bunny to it.  It looked nice lying on top of the Bella base, but it needed a little more oomph.  In full experimental mode --and with fingers crossed-- I covered the base edges with Ranger Glossy Accents and very carefully placed the inked bunny layer on top.  I had to walk away and hope for the best.

Ta da! It worked!  The Glossy Accents glued the layers together *and* gave the beautiful vintage bunny a worthy frame.

Next up is a peachy-keen card.  I used the GSL Cuts "Flourish Frame Marie" to highlight lovely tulips on the retired Pion Designs paper.

I painted the frame with the closest thing to peach in the paint drawer.  Once that dried I whitewashed it for a little more interest.  I dabbed around the frame with watery white paint and let it set for a wee bit to dry. Then I used the dryer because I really wanted to get to the next, even messier step!

I inked the frame edges with brown since I can't make a project without inked edges.  To give the frame more pop I stuck my finger in a tiny tub of Distress Stickles and patted it all around.  This will work with clear glue and glitter or whatever you have on hand.

Once dried, it gives a cool, sort of random texture to the frame.  This could work with crackle paint also.  Next time!

Lastly, here is my favorite card of the trio, because of the DUCKIES!  This one uses the GSL Cuts "Damask Singles".  This chipboard is delicate and bee-you-ti-ful!  I hated covering up any of it, but a card maker's gotta do what a card maker has got to do. 

First I dabbed the damask cut with a couple layers of TH Picket Fence Distress Stain.  Once the card started coming together, I realized the white was too plain.  

It got a blue wash much like the white wash on my second card above.  Once dry I considered a bunch of sticky pearls along the flourishes but opted for the much-easier Viva Pearl Pen in Ice White.  I dabbed it all over and left to dry overnight.  I randomly inked with a brown color and it was done! 

To attach to the card, I dotted the Zig 2-way glue all over the back and held in place for a short bit.
