Fairy On A Book Box

Hi everyone, Melissa here with book box for Gina's Designs. I have two other book boxes I've made, and they're very convenient for stashing ATCs, and other small things.

I assembled the box and glued it with glossy accents, and then put a few coats of gesso on both the inner and outer surfaces. I followed this with a thin wash of Lindys Stamp Gang. The binding area has a coat of gold liquid leaf paint.

The top is oil on canvas, it was inspired by Deanne's "Anything Under the Rainbow". I started out with bright colors, added a lot of white, then rubbed and brushed on mica powders in different colors.

I prepped the fairy with gesso, and painted her with watercolors. I put on a thin coat of glossy accents, then sprinkled on glitter. I repeated this, but made the glue layer thicker. I applied some silver stickles, and gold leaf paint.

Thanks for looking, and have a great weekend!

Covered Book Box by Guest Designer Heather

Hello everyone Heather here I am super thrilled to have been
asked to guest design for Gina’s Designs.

I took Gina’s Book Box the Medium size and created a haven
for any mini album or piece of treasure.

First I took some silk fabric and covered it then I placed a
beautiful sparkly piece of elastic trim over top of that.  I then took some fabulous black rose fabric
and placed that inside.  I also added
some purple trim all around the edge of the book.

I took Gina’s wood mini frame and embossed it with clear
embossing powder as well as the word joy.
I placed those on top and added a few heart buttons on top to give a
little bling but not too much.

I made the flower with silk fabric lace trim and added a button
in the center.

This was so much fun to create I hope you like it.

 Thanks,

Vintage Book Stack by GDT Marla Rizzo

Hey everyone. Today I have made a beautiful vintage book stack to share with you. I
used the small and medium book box that Gina carries in her store. It was so
much fun to create!

I painted the boxes inside
and out with cream paint then used Ladies Diary paper to cover them. I also
used some vintage trim I had to keep with the vintage feel.

They can be opened up so you
can store your little vintage treasures inside.

You can check out my YouTube video of this project HERE.

Gina
also carries a large book box too. Check out her store to get a set to alter
for yourself!  Have a great day!
