Layered Cameo Tags by Ginny Nemchak

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here to share some very vintagy inspired tags with cameos .  I've never actually owned a cameo.....but now I think I may need to change that as these are so my style!!!

These chippies were a snap to alter so I went ahead and made several tags. 

I've layered the Cameos onto some chippies that reminded me of doilies for an even more vintagy look.

I pulled out all the girly embellies like lace and ribbons to make these tags even more feminine.

1. I selected the chippies to work with the size of the tags. 2. I altered the largest oval shape layer with bronze embossing powder. For the smaller oval I chose a scripty patterned paper and adhered it, then trimmed it out and finished the edges off with Distress Ink. 3. The profile chippie is finished with more embossing powder, this time in white. 4. The larger doily shape is also finished with white embossing powder.

Kiss Kiss Valentine Shaker Tag Holiday Home Decor by Ginny

Hey there Paper Peeps! Ginny here and I've got a very sweet Valentine treat for you! It's a shaker tag created with the oh so cool Hello Word Frames.

So much cuteness here I can hardly stand it!!!!! The secret to the success of this project is that the frame has straight sides to make it easy to cut the foam...otherwise I'd be in a big mess and glued to the project. Okay...I did glue myself to it....but that happens to me all the time.

I've pulled out all the sparkly bits and trims for this because that's what Valentine is for.

I intentionally adhered the sequins around the edge for equal distribution of the colors and shapes. There's hearts inside and pretty mint along with some holiday postage stamp cut outs.  I didn't want all the sequins to get squished behind the large stamps.

I finished off this tag with a charming little banner in mint to coordinate with the sequins.
Here's how I made the shaker....

I started with the Hello Word Frame with the heart cut outs and a few patterns of holiday paper. There's also some repurposed packaging from the flowers and foam that I traced and cut to fit.

I gave the chippie a base coat of white acrylic paint then used my dabber and pen to apply adhesive to the heart section. Next I sprinkled on the red glitter embossing powder and set it with the heat tool.
I glued the layers together with the sequins and stamps inside, then covered the edges with tinsel trim. Then I added it to my tag and layered on all the embellies.

I'm so pleased with how this turned out!!!! I think I'll be making shakers with the rest of the frames from the package : )

Sleigh Floral Centerpiece by Ginny

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here and I'm having a good ol time decking the halls and adding Christmas cheer everywhere I can. This centerpiece will look great on my table and make a great addition to our holiday display.

Isn't it just grand???? This is the Santa Sleigh Kit which was super easy to assemble and with just a few finishing touches I was able to create a centerpiece that works perfectly in our home.

Using the side of the sleigh as a template I traced the patterned paper and cut to size.

I gave all the pieces a coat of chalkboard paint because I love the depth of color it gives. Remember to finish all the pieces inside and out since this centerpiece can be seen from all sides by your guests.

The runners are finished with Steel Luxe paint. OOOHHH shinyyyy!!!

Assembling the sleigh was easy and took just a bit of glue to keep it together. I used Tombo Multi since it dries clear and quickly.

Attach the patterned paper and use a file to get a perfect fit  . Next adhere the runners with the Tombo glue and hold it in place while it set up.

Watering down white glue makes it thin enough to paint on getting into all the nooks and crannies. Once I had a good coating  I sprinkled on fine clear glitter and shook off the excess.  It dried pretty quickly so I could move on to the next step.

Adding a nice big block of floral foam gave me a perfect base to insert the stems of holiday picks. I chose a variety of picks purchased from the local discount store. Some had poinsettias and faux fruits and some had pine cones. I also included a few large jingle bells that were attached to floral stems and tucked in to fill gaps.

The glitter adds a nice little bit of sparkle as well as tones down the very contrasting pattern of the holiday scrapbook paper.

Keep in mind that centerpieces can be viewed from the top as well and are lighted by the chandelier above your table so make sure you're really filling in the flowers and not leaving gaps that will be noticeable  by your guests.

Blending Tool Holder by Ginny

Hey there Peeps!  Just dropping in to share a fun little tutorial using the Business Card Holder to contain my two most used blending tools to keep them on top of my work desk without getting ink on the table.

The card holder fits two of the tools fit side by side and keeps them within easy reach.

 I lined the bottom with paper which can be switched out if it becomes too inky but since I use Gathered Twigs and Black Soot most often there's no worry about contaminating the felt pads with other colors if I just leave the original piece in.

 

I finished the sides with the same paper but with larger sections of the pattern to take advantage of the big beautiful blooms.

I added a few large and small blooms, an enamel brad and a loopy twine bow and that was just a perfect amount of embellishments to make this practical display pretty and a great addition to my work desk.

Here's a few steps I took to create this project...

After choosing the chippies I wanted to use I gave them a good wipe down with a dry cloth to prepare them for finishing.

Using the outside pieces I traced the half oval shape onto the patterned papers and trimmed. The holder was assembled and painted a pretty soft blue to coordinate with the paper. The remaining elements were given a base coat of crisp white to prepare them for additional steps.

After applying the embossing dabber I sprinkled on pretty powder and used the heat gun to set.

I attached the chippies to the holder and finished with the embellishments.

Silver Reindeer Blue Christmas Greeting Card by Ginny

Happy Sunday, Paper Peeps! Hope you are having a fabulous week. I'm just dropping in to share a traditionally styled Christmas card with a non-traditional color scheme.  I'm using my Gypsy Soul laser Cut chippies as the frame and focal image for this lovely wintery card and I'm just thrilled with how it turned out.

Pretty patterned papers and large dimensional flowers are the perfect accent to the altered chipboard pieces. 

Here's how I created the card....

I selected the chipboard I wanted to use by first fitting them together to make sure they all  worked to create a nice arrangement.

Using an embossing dabber and a variety of powders I was able to create lovely finishes on the chippies quickly so I could keep on working and not wait for wet paint to dry.  Silver for the Flourished Deer,  Bridal Tinsel for the Snowflake, and Weathered Wood for the Flourish Frame Evie. Of course these had to be  set with the heat tool before continuing.



I created a 6x6 card base with blue cardstock then layered on patterned papers all well inked and separated with solid borders.

With chipboard spacers I attached the center section and topped it off with a die cut doily, additional patterned paper cut into a circle and topped off with the frame.

I finished the card with Deer and accented him with the flowers, ribbon trim, sparkly branches and of course the altered snowflakes.

Halloween Shaker Party Wand by Ginny Nemchak

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here dropping in to share a great Halloween décor-party favor that's chock full of holiday fun.

These party wands were a lot of fun to create. I'm using the Ornament Double Sided and bits and pieces from the Spooky Shapes Set.

I selected the chippies I wanted to use being careful to choose smaller shapes that will mover freely when the wand is moved.

The fronts of the ornaments and a few of the shaker pieces were given a coat of black embossing powder and heat set.

The remaining bits were finished with silver heat embossing.

Using a black permanent marker on the inside and outside edges will give a nice clean finished look.

Polka dot patterned paper secured to the back side of the bottom ornament shape.  This is a good pattern that will not get lost behind the shaker parts.

I've included some pop beads in black and silver with the shaker bits and sandwiched it all between the clear bubble and the polka dot paper.

Layered crepe ruffled and secured with tacky glue to a black cardstock circle forms a great festive background and adding the straw slightly flattened at the top will be nice and snug between the background and ornament.

These party wands are finished off with some Stickles, loads of ribbon and twine and topped off with a blingy cabochon.

 Cute by themselves.....but how about add them to a holiday centerpiece?

Wouldn't these make the most funnest party favor? I want to have a party just so I can hand out these fabby goodies!!!

Halloween Shrine Box

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here to share a Halloween project that takes me from the sublime from last week into the ridiculous.  I've got a skeleton hanging from a chandelier like you would find at any great Halloween party.

I used pieces from several sets of fabulous chippies to create this fun and whimsical box.



The box is covered with funky Halloween patterned papers to create a backdrop for the altered chipboard.

Spider Webs with steel luxe paint create a base to add seasonal embellishments to.

The focal point for this arrangement is additional webs and Star Flourishes with fall colored leaves, black roses and sparkly picks.

Inside the box is a great embossed chandelier with a party animal skeleton.
