I bought a kit . . .

Even though I design for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts and create kits for The Button Farm Club, I continue to purchase kits to work on at crops, etc. I love kits because I can work on them & talk to friends at the same time. Someone else does the work and I follow along.

Yet, I still like to add my twist to some of the kits I purchase. The next kit I'm working on is a Stamperia Alice In Wonderland kit from The Button Farm Club.

Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts has these adorable Alice embellishments that I will be adding to The Button Farm kit.

I'm starting with these Alice coin covers:

When I base coat a GSLCuts chipboard element, I leave the embellishments in it's *casing*. It gives the chip a bit more stability until I'm ready to use them.

Although the celery green color looks darker in the following photo, I'm trying to recreate the same color scheme as the papers.

Using stencils, I added some color to 2 of the 4 chippies. The watch and bottle were painted with Prima Rust Effect Paste. It has crushed something in it to make it look a bit weathered. I used one color for the bottle and 3 colors for the watch. Since the watch will get something in the middle, I didn't paint the center.

Once the paint was dry, inking was the next stop to give these figures some dimension/shadow treatment. I used a paintbrush and some diluted ink to add dimension.

Then it was time for the crackle finish on all 4 coin covers. I applied the Rock Candy Crackle Paint on each of the chipboard cut-outs then let dry naturally. Using a heat gun for this step is not recommended.

Once dry, I applied brown Distress Ink with an applicator then rubbed over each of the images with a soft cloth. This forces the ink into all the crevices. You can use your finger as well but I have better luck with a soft cloth.

Love how the crazing looks. Now it's time to cut them free and add embellies!

Hope you enjoyed my little foray into the
world of
Lewis Carroll & Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

Here's what I used for this project:
