Shabby Chic Birdhouse Greeting Card

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here to share a spring inspired greeting card created with the gorgeous chipboard from GSL.

This card reminds me that there are warm days ahead even if it's -20 degrees right now here in mid-Michigan.
I've stacked up these chippies for a layered look.
And added pretty finishing details.
Instead of my usual patterned paper I'm utilizing the  chipboard to create the background.
There's a few flowers and matching trims to coordinate.
I selected the chipboard and wiped it down to prepare it for altering.
Everything gets a base coat of flat white acrylic paint.
I created an ombre effect on these feathers by tapping on silver paint into the white paint while it was still wet.
The birdhouse is finished with a quick distressing with ink and stamped with a texture to look like old stone.
