Quick and Easy Card Idea

Hi everyone, Leigh Ann here for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.  Today I will be showing you how to make a quick easy card that looks great!

My first step was to cut my card base, a black shimmer background layer, and a slightly smaller piece of smooth white card stock to use as my inked background.

Then I painted the Meadow Flowers piece by Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts with a matte black acrylic paint, being careful to coat the edges as well.

While that was drying I went to work on my background.  I used Distress Oxides in Abandoned Coral, Broken China, and Seedless Preserves.  I blended the 3 colors into each other in horizontal stripes without worrying about perfection.  I then sprayed the background with water and blotted with a towel to get the oxidized look. I dried it with a heat gun to save time.

Next, I stamped my sentiment onto white cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with black embossing powder.  I cut it to a small rectangle not much larger than the sentiment.

Then is was time to assemble the card.  I used a tape runner to attach the paper layers and then used Gina K Connect Glue to attach the chipboard piece.  I popped the sentiment up with foam tape to give the card more dimension.

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial for a great looking easy card that you can make when you need a card quickly.  I used the Meadow Flowers chipboard piece, but the possibilities are endless. You can swap out the ink colors, the chipboard piece, and the sentiment to make a card perfect for any occasion.

  1. Love how the background looks like a sunrise or sunset. Really pretty project.
