Halloween Hailings

Halloween grows even closer and there is excitement in the air in anticipation  of the most wonderful of all days. I love looking at vintage postcards and have found a few more that I'd like to share.

As stated in earlier posts I hate wasting my supplies so I will be using the rest of the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Creepy critters in one of my "Patchwork-Pop Up Curiosity Cards" I designed them to use some of the decorative scrapbook papers I use in my "Treasure Books".
1.  Cut Two Pieces of Decorative Scrapbook paper 4 inches tall by 6 inches wide.

2.  Cut Two Pieces of Decorative Scrapbook paper 2 3/4  inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide.
3.  Cut one Piece of Decorative Scrapbook paper 2 inches tall by 6 inches wide.

4.   Fold 2 inch step of Decorative Scrapbook in half "hotdog" style.

5.  Glue Two Pieces of Decorative Scrapbook paper 4 inches tall by 6 inches wide using the folded piece from step 4.

6.  Fold end of one Two Pieces of Decorative Scrapbook paper 2 3/4  inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide about 1/2 in on each end.
7.  Glue one tap to the top of your emerging card.
8.  Glue second tap to bottom of your emerging card so that the second piece of Decorative Scrapbook paper 2 3/4  inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide will fit inside of the card.
9.  Gently fold down top of card.

10.                Carefully open you should have created a hinge
11.                Glue the second piece of Decorative Scrapbook paper 2 3/4  inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide to the front of this hinge.
12.                Trim edges of cards to fit into envelopes if you so choose. I cut mine to 4 inches tall to 5 1/2 inches wide.
13.                Cut a piece of plain paper 2 1/4 inches tall by 4 inches wide.
14.                Use UHU glue stick to add blank paper to inside of your card.
15.                Distress Edges of card using Tim Holtz Distress Ink and blending tool.
16.                Add scrapes of Decorative Paper to continue your patchwork Halloween Themed Card.
17.                Print a Halloween Greeting on to a transparency or stamp using a script stamp and permanent ink, and color with alcohol inks.
18.                Cut to fit inside of card leaving room to burn edges using a candle in a well ventilated area.
19.                Use Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Foam pads and acrylic ink to add spider webs to cards and a pattern to Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Creepy Critters.

20.                Use blending tool to add alcohol inks to color the critters.

21.                Paint on top randomly and quickly using dry brush and Color Shift Green and Purple Acrylic Paint.
22.                Take apart GSLC Creepy Critters and secure with Weldbond or UHU gluestick. Flatten with a Ziploc bag filled with kitty litter to assure stability of critters.

23.                Attached aged transparency greeting or script to bottom of inside card.
24.                Your  card is now ready to send. You can make these cards in many different sizes using the same steps just changing the size of paper pieces you use.

Some final thoughts. If you are like me you find a way to sneak Halloween into your world more days than one. My classroom is decorated with cute plushy monsters, I wear my Halloween Costume on random days of the year, I hide my true feeling behind a mask of contentment, I have Halloween Decorations throughout my house, You should eat your favorite candy even if you have to buy it yourself, and live with the wonder and expectancy of magical moments.
