Whimsical Carrousel

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by the blog! Today I am sharing a fun whimsical
project. I love to see the joy on the faces of children when they go to the
fair or carnival. They all just seem to love to ride the carousels. This is the image that serves as my inspiration for the project.

I started this project by painting all of the laser
chipboard with white gesso. Some of the chipboard was then painted with
black gesso. The large spool was painted then with an ivory chalk paint. After the
chipboard dried, I papered the large spool with the stripped paper and
the diamond shape paper.

The diamond shaped paper was cut into a 12 X 12 circle for the carousel
top. I cut a two strips 2 ½” each and joined them together. After the strip was joined, I then used two of Martha Stewart's punches to put the finishing touches to the strip. A vanilla strip
was added between the two punched edges.  After the strip was attached to the spool top, red-pink bling as well as silver bling was added.  Red
abd silver bling was added at the base of the center column.

The animals where prepped then painted with distress paint:
brown, yellow, ivory and black. The saddles
were added to each of the carrousel animals by using distress stickles, glitter
& glass beads.
