"The Best is Yet to Be" Mixed Media Canvas

Hello there crafty people! Lynne here with a 12 x 12 mixed media canvas (Finnabair style, or at least my version!) I'm really happy with the way this came out and love the clock piece as a frame.

I mod-podged crumpled tissue paper onto the canvas, primed all the pieces separately with gesso, then attached the clock, flowers, letters and butterflies before sponge painting the surface with gold acrylic paint. (Since everything is painted over, projects like this are a great way to use up the ugly or weird-colored flowers and other embellishments in your stash!) Gold and blue spray mists finished the main area, then the words were rubbed with gold and brown Gelatos and brushed with blue mist to make them stand out more. The dragonfly and butterfly wings were folded up for dimension and they were brushed with the blue mist as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look at my latest creation!
