No time for Christmas cards? . . .

Not sure if this happens to you but each year I have the intention of making Christmas cards . . . and then . . . time gets away. But it's not too late if you ditch the idea of sending Christmas cards and send New Year cards instead.

For this card I combined Frank Garcia's Sweet Peppermint collection with Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

The first step was to layer papers along with GSLCuts.com mitten from the mitten and stocking collection.

  • Layer #1 is the base cardstock cut 5.5" X 8.5" and fold in half as a top fold card.
  • Layer #2 is a Sweet Peppermint small green dot pattern paper cut 5 1/4" x 4 1/8".
  • Layer #3 is the bright colored dots from Sweet Peppermint cut just a quarter inch smaller than the last layer. Pop that layer up with Crafty Foam Tape.
  • Layer #4 is the mitten from Holiday Banner covered with Sweet Peppermint and then popped up (a little crooked) with Crafty Foam Tape

Next I worked with GSLCuts Snowflake Shape Set. Since Sweet Peppermint has splashes of bright silver, I wanted to use Prima's silver rub-on foils. So I *painted* the snow flakes with Beacon Fabri-Tac

and then laid the foil on top and let it dry for a few minutes.

When I pulled the foil off, it left beautiful silver bright snowflakes.

I did the same with GSLCuts Winter Shape Set. Then added drips of snow using Prima's Snowflake Paste. Love using this as there is a bit of shimmer to the paste.

Finally added a few flowers from Sweet Peppermint and a some miscellaneous frosty leaves as well as an image with children sledding (also from the Sweet Peppermint collection). Tiny dots were added using Liquid Pearls Platinum and Ruby Red.

A few more Prima Snowflake Paste drops were added to the flowers.

The inside is covered with green snowflake paper from Sweet Peppermint and then a larger image of the children sledding as well as the little bird image and the tiny mitten (all from Frank's collection). The images were outlined with a Pen-Touch silver pen. A snowflake border was added after treating it with Beacon and Prima's Rub-On Foils and the card is complete.

Thanks for sticking with me through all these photos. Hoping you have a very merry Christmas.
