Mardi Gras Masks by Sandy Trefger

Hello everyone and happy February to you!  This is Sandy and I'm bringing you a fun project with a video tutorial for my post today. If you celebrate Mardi Gras or attend any Mardi Gras events or parties or even if you just want to have a Masquerade party, it's fun to create your own masks!  For my project, I've used Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Masks Shape Set which comes with a nice assortment of chipboard masks in various sizes.  I selected three of the largest ones to create these fun masks that you can actually wear or hold for a masquerade or Mardi Gras event.

This is the first one that I created using scraps of paper from the new Graphic 45 Midnight Masquerade collection that was introduced at Creativation a few weeks ago.  I just love the colors of this fabulous paper. I paired them with some fun Nuvo Crystal and Glitter Drops and flowers from my stash.  In my tutorial video, I show you how to make the paper feathers that I used on this mask

For the the second one, I used a large sheet of Scor-tape adhesive and fine glitter to create a sparkly mask. I also added some fun flowers and gold rhinestones.

For the third and final mask, I decided to go all out with lots of rhinestones and different flat back stick-on embellishments in pinks and reds along with ribbon streamers.

It was so fun creating these and I hope that I've inspired you to create some of your own.  For more details on how I created each one, check out my YouTube tutorial video below and scroll down for the supply list,
