This project began with this beautiful free-standing Christmas tree designed by Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. It's intricately cut from heavy chipboard and comes in two pieces that slide into each other.
I decided to use just one piece and create a layout using Frank Garcia's Sweet Peppermint line with Prima Marketing.
I first put a coat of Prima's Opal Magic Green-Gold on the chipboard and let that dry.
Then I added a coat of Opal Magic Blue-Gold in the center of the tree, working the brush from inside out. Once that coat dried, the last step was a light coat of Metallique Light Patina, working brush strokes from the center out in an upward motion.
All the paints used can be found on Prima Marketing site and are designed by Finnabair, part of her Art Alchemy line.
Look at these beautiful Victorian corners. I really *needed* to use these on the layout I was building. They were painted with Metallique Light Patina with an overlay of Opal Magic Blue-Gold.
Once all the layers of paint were dry, I used a sponge to apply Prima's Snowflake Paste. I love this product as it has a bit of shimmer built in.
Dab on the Snowflake Paste with the sponge, leaving clumps of snow in various places on the GSLCUTS tree.
Before the Snowflake Paste dries . . .
sprinkle on a bit of Prima's Art Sugar
and let all dry.
In the meantime, I chose a couple of papers from Frank Garcia's Sweet Peppermint line. I adore this Santa in the corner on the *Naughty or Nice* paper and had to use him. I also cut a strip from the *Sweet Peppermint* paper and used that on the background piece.
I added a few pieces of chipboard and just touched them lightly with Stickles. A few flowers from Frank's collection were added to ground *this Christmas tide* chipboard.
Look at the silvery-blue drops I added to the tree. This is a *new-to-me* product that I am in love with. Normally I use Stickles or Liquid Pearls. But I just saw a review on someone's blog comparing these two items to Tonic's Nuvo Crystal Drops. (Can't remember whose blog it was. So sorry.). She said that no matter what, the Nuvo Crystal Drops will not dry with little peaks but will always round out. WHAT! So I tried them and look! They're perfectly round!
More Sweet Peppermint chipboard was added to the top of the tree and *stickled* just a bit.
Packages from Frank's collection were added under the tree
as well as Sweet Peppermint sequins. I added tiny pearls to the top of the sequins.
The Victorian corners were added to the photo mat.
